Position Title:

Sales Engineer / Sales Executive – CO₂ Laser & Knife Cutting Machines

Department:

Sales & Marketing

Reports To:

Sales Manager / Business Development Manager

Location- Thane

1. Job Summary

The Sales Engineer is responsible for generating leads, meeting customers, understanding their application requirements, and selling CO₂ laser cutting machines, knife cutting machines, and related automation solutions. The role includes technical presentation, product demonstration, preparing quotations, negotiating, and closing orders.

2. Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify potential customers in industries such as 

    textile, garment, leather, signage, packaging, corrugated box, footwear, handicrafts, automotive interiors, foam, acrylic

     etc.
  • Generate leads through field visits, calls, exhibitions, online platforms.
  • Conduct market research on competitors, pricing, and trends.

Technical Presentation & Demonstration

  • Understand customer requirements (material type, thickness, accuracy, production volume).
  • Suggest suitable machine models
  • Perform product demos at customer site or company demo centre.
  • Explain machine features, software, cutting quality, maintenance, and ROI.

Quotation & Negotiation

  • Prepare professional quotations with technical specifications and commercial terms.
  • Explain pricing, warranty, AMC, installation, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate price and close deals while maintaining company margin.
  • Maintain strong follow-up until order confirmation.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain database of leads, opportunities, and customer interactions (CRM).
  • Build long-term relationships with distributors, agents, and key customers.
  • Provide after-sales coordination (installation, training, service support).

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare daily/weekly visit reports.
  • Maintain competitor data, product comparison, and market insights.
  • Assist marketing team with product brochures, videos, and sample cutting files.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of 

    CO₂ laser cutting

     and 

    knife cutting machine technology

    .
  • Technical knowledge of materials (fabric, leather, acrylic, MDF, cardboard, foam).
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve sales targets.
  • Strong MS Office / CRM usage.

4. Qualifications

  • Diploma / B.Tech / B.E in 

    Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Textile, or related fields

    .
  • 2–3 years of experience in 

    laser machines, CNC machines, textile machinery, packaging machines, or industrial equipment sales

    .

5. Additional Preferred Skills (Optional)

  • Experience in 

    B2B industrial machinery sales

    .
  • Understanding of 

    AMC, service concepts, laser maintenance basics

    .
  • Participation in trade shows and industry exhibitions.
