Technical Lead

Role Overview

We are looking for a Solid Backend Tech Lead to drive backend architecture, design, and development. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technologist with strong expertise in backend systems, distributed systems, and cloud platforms, who can lead a team of engineers towards building scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions while nurturing a strong tech-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of backend engineers, mentoring and guiding them on architecture, design, coding practices, and problem-solving.
• Drive end-to-end design and development of large-scale backend systems using Python or Java.
• Architect and optimize event-driven systems leveraging Kafka.
• Own cloud-native deployments on AWS Cloud (EKS, RDS, S3, etc.), ensuring scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure system security, compliance, and best practices across infrastructure and applications.
• Build and enforce a heavy tech culture — innovation, ownership, peer reviews, automation, CI/CD, and engineering excellence.
• Ensure system reliability, monitoring, and performance tuning of distributed systems.
• Apply strong data structures and algorithmic thinking to build efficient, maintainable, and scalable services.
• Collaborate with Product, Business, and Data teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Establish best practices in code quality, CI/CD, testing, DevOps, and security hardening.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of overall software development experience with 2–3 years of experience in team leadership/people management.
• Strong backend development expertise in Python or Java.
• Proven hands-on experience with Kafka, AWS Cloud services, RDS, and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and distributed system design.
• Solid experience in system/application security (secure coding, data security, access controls, and compliance).
• Proven ability to build and nurture a strong tech culture within teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Background or passion for Agriculture / AgriTech domain.
• Exposure to microservices, event-driven architectures, and high-scale transactional platforms.
