Job Description JOB SUMMARY The role described is for a System Engineer with a focus on technical support, scripting (bash), monitoring/logs reading, SQL, basic programming (JVM languages), and effective communication. For Senior Roles, experience in Cloud technologies like AWS and Kubernetes is a plus. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving software issues, troubleshooting common problems, automating tasks with scripting, analyzing logs, and managing incidents using ticketing systems like ServiceNow and Jira. Additional skills required are continuous learning, collaboration, analytical and problem-solving abilities, time management, and multitasking in a fast-paced support environment. Qualifications ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Utilization of ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) for logging, tracking, and resolving support tickets related to software issues. Prioritization of software-related incidents based on impact, urgency, and SLA requirements to ensure timely resolution. Effective communication skills for explaining software-related concepts, solutions, and workarounds to users with varying technical backgrounds. Collaboration with software developers and vendors to escalate complex software issues, obtain patches/fixes, and implement workarounds. Documentation of software troubleshooting procedures, resolutions, and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference. Proactive monitoring of software performance and reliability, identifying trends, and implementing preventive measures to reduce recurring incidents. QUALIFICATIONS Software Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving software-related issues, including application crashes etc. Experience in troubleshooting common software problems such as compatibility issues, configuration errors, and performance degradation. Knowledge of scripting languages for automating software-related tasks and troubleshooting procedures. Ability to analyze log files, error messages, and system event logs to identify root causes of software failures and implement solutions. Basic proficiency in programming languages. Knowledge of Gitlab, SSH & other CI/CD tools. Proficiency in SQL Queries and optimization. Experience with Cloud technologies like AWS etc. Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus. Additional Skills & Qualification: Continuous learning and skill development in software technologies, updates, and best practices to stay current and improve troubleshooting efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to address software-related issues, implement enhancements, and ensure seamless integration. Analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose complex software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Time management and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced support environment.
