Job Purpose:

The Store Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations of the stores/warehouse in a manufacturing unit. The role ensures efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and finished goods. The Store Manager plays a key role in inventory accuracy, material availability, cost control, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & Material Management

Maintain accurate stock levels of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, packing materials, and finished goods.

Ensure timely issue of materials to production as per requisitions.

Monitor stock movements and conduct periodic cycle counts & annual stock verification.

Prevent stock-outs and excess inventory by applying proper inventory control techniques (FIFO, LIFO, JIT, ABC analysis).

Receiving & Dispatch

Supervise receiving activities including unloading, checking, and recording of materials.

Ensure proper storage conditions to avoid damage, deterioration, or loss.

Coordinate dispatch of finished goods to customers/dealers as per schedule.

Ensure timely documentation of GRN (Goods Receipt Note), delivery challans, invoices, and other shipping documents.

Process & Compliance

Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for store functions.

Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations (GST, excise, E-way bills), and audit requirements.

Maintain ERP/Inventory software data accurately and ensure timely updates. Ensure proper labeling, binning, and identification of materials.

Team Management, supervise storekeepers, loaders, and helpers to ensure smooth operations.

Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with the purchase, production, quality, and accounts departments for smooth flow of materials.

Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports on stock status, material consumption, and discrepancies.

Provide data and support for internal/external audits.

Prevent pilferage, wastage, and leakage of materials.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP, SAP, Tally, etc.).

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent coordination and communication skills.

Knowledge of statutory requirements related to stores, GST, and logistics.

Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Graduate/Diploma in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or related field.

5–10 years of experience in stores/warehouse management in a manufacturing industry.

Certification in Inventory Management / SAP / Warehouse Operations (preferred).

On-time availability of materials for production

Efficiency of dispatch & logistics
