Job Title: Senior Sales Manager – Plywood Division Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Sales Manager with strong expertise in the plywood and wood products industry. The ideal candidate will have deep market knowledge, established dealer/ distributor networks, and a proven track record of driving sales growth in plywood or building materials.
Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Market Development
- Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share for plywood and related wood products.
- Identify new business opportunities in retail, wholesale, projects, OEM, interiors, and construction sectors.
- Analyze plywood market trends, pricing movements, timber sourcing variations, and competitor offerings.
Customer & Channel Management
- Build and manage relationships with dealers, distributors, architects, contractors, and interior designers.
- Expand dealer network and strengthen channel relationships to boost product penetration.
- Conduct regular market visits to assess demand, customer feedback, and competitor activity.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Set performance KPIs, conduct training sessions, and ensure sales discipline.
- Support regional teams with guidance on product knowledge and industry-specific selling techniques.
Key Account Handling
- Manage high-value clients, institutional buyers, and large construction or furniture manufacturing accounts.
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and contracts to close profitable deals.
- Ensure timely order processing, delivery coordination, and after-sales support.
Product & Technical Knowledge
- Demonstrate strong understanding of plywood grades (MR, BWR, BWP), core types, laminates, veneers, and related materials.
- Stay updated on quality standards, certification requirements (e.g., IS:710/303), manufacturing processes, and product differentiation.
- Collaborate with product and production teams for new product development and market needs.
Reporting & Operations
- Monitor sales performance, forecast demand, and prepare monthly sales reports.
- Ensure proper use of CRM tools and maintain accurate customer data.
- Oversee credit control and collection processes in coordination with finance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5–12+ years of sales experience in plywood, laminates, veneers, building materials, or construction products.
- Strong network within plywood dealers, distributors, OEMs, and project clients.
- Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets in the plywood/wood products sector.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of pricing, sourcing, and technical aspects of plywood.
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing multi-region sales teams.
- Knowledge of timber procurement and product quality parameters.
- Ability to forecast market trends and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Proficiency in CRM and MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
