Software Engineer in Test (SDET2) Location: Mumbai/Bangalore Education: Btech/Mtech/BE Job Summary The Test Engineer at Kotak will help in shaping the Quality first mind-set and vision for large scale, multi-platform banking software products that includes - Web, Mobile and Backend APIs. We are looking for experienced, hands-on and self-motivated leaders who can mentor the team and work collaboratively in a start-up like environment and be a role model in implementation of Testing Automation Suite. This role involves working closely with Leadership teams, Engineering teams, PMs, Business experts and other stakeholders that includes leveraging shift-left methods to understand the banking domain and product. You will focus on building the culture that leverages Test Automation at all levels, tracks progress via metrics and believes in continuous improvements of processes and productivity. Key Responsibilities Partner with engineering teams and various stakeholders to understand the business needs, impact areas, system architecture etc and come up with the testing requirements and feasibility for Test Automation. Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback. Create comprehensive and well-structured Test Strategy, Test Plans and Test cases. Responsible for setting up and implementation of test automation strategy from Functional and Non-functional perspective for various banking products starting with Loan Origination Platform Build and maintain the automation frameworks and libraries for Web, Mobile and Backend applications. You are also responsible to estimate, priorities, plan and coordinate testing activities along with managing and maintaining test coverage through periodic reports to engineering teams and other stakeholders. Help the team in debugging, reviewing and diagnosing reported bugs, and ensuring overall system quality prior to a customer release. Research about test tools, methodologies, and trends in the industry and upgrading existing practices and processes. Track key productivity metrics and ROI e.g., Automation Coverage, Test Reliability, Speed, Manual testing time reduction and other quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect density, open defect counts, resolutions etc). Implementation of CI / CD for all layers of automation including Unit, Integration and End to end testing. What do you need to succeed? (Minimum Qualifications) 3-7 years of work experience as a Software engineer or SDET Strong knowledge of Software QA methodologies, tools, Agile processes and development cycles Experience in testing & debugging Web, Mobile application (Android/iOS ) and Backend Applications. Hands-on experience in automating scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright etc. Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases. Experience with project management tools e.g., Jira or Azure DevOps. Experience working with various SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB. Proficient experience with Git CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, or other build automation tools. Expertise in deployment and scaling of automation infrastructure using Docker & Kubernetes. Excellent time management skills and Problem-solving skills. Ability to navigate through ambiguous environments and guiding the team to excel.
