Key Responsibilities

The SMM Specialist's key responsibilities include:

  • Content Strategy & Creation

    :
  • Developing compelling content ideas aligned with brand voice and goals.
  • Collaborating with the design team to produce visually engaging assets for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Writing engaging captions, hashtags, and Calls-to-Action (CTAs) that drive interaction.
  • Community Management

    :
  • Responding to comments, Direct Messages (DMs), tags, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Moderating discussions and encouraging meaningful engagement.
  • Nurturing an active, loyal follower base and building brand advocacy.
  • Performance & Audience Analysis

    :
  • Tracking key social media metrics such as engagement, reach, impressions, shares, saves, and traffic.
  • Analysing follower demographics, behaviour, and content preferences.
  • Refining targeting based on data insights and feedback loops.
  • Trend Monitoring & Innovation

    :
  • Staying current with trends, memes, and emerging content formats (e.g., Reels, Stories, Threads).
  • Experimenting with new platform features and evaluating performance.
  • Suggesting and executing creative campaigns tied to ongoing trends.
  • Campaign Execution

    :
  • Planning and scheduling campaigns for product launches, events, and partnerships.
  • Coordinating paid campaigns/boosts to amplify reach and lead generation.
  • Ensuring brand messaging is consistent across all content.
  • Influencer & Partnership Management

    :
  • Identifying and engaging with relevant micro-influencers and content collaborators.
  • Building long-term relationships that drive awareness and conversions.
  • Tracking and reporting on influencer campaign performance.
  • Calendar Management

    :
  • Maintaining and updating the monthly social media calendar.
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders for approvals and inputs.
  • Ensuring timely publishing of posts according to plan.

Required Skills & Tools

The ideal candidate should possess skills and familiarity with the following:

  • Social Media Platforms

    : Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest (as applicable).
  • Analytics & Scheduling Tools

    :
  • Meta Business Suite.
  • LinkedIn Insights, YouTube Studio.
  • Hootsuite, Buffer, Later (or similar tools).
  • Google Analytics / UTM tracking.
  • Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (preferred).
  • Communication & Writing

    :
  • Strong storytelling and caption-writing skills.
  • Ability to adjust tone and format based on platform and audience.
  • Bonus Skills

    :
  • Familiarity with AI-powered content tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Lumen5, Copy.ai).
  • Experience with running paid ad campaigns on Meta/LinkedIn platforms.
