We are looking for a high-reaching Service Sales Manager for our CMD (Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division) service commercial team.
The position is permanent and located in Delhi. It involves in-person visits to customers in the North and East regions, as well as collaboration with service, commercial, and other teams throughout India.
This position suits a Science or Engineering graduate with sales, business development, or client-facing experience. It is perfect for those aiming to build a career in strategic sales and business analysis within a global organization.
What will you do?
Commercial Business Management for Service - North & East Region

As a Service Sales Manager, you will lead service commercial business across North and East regions, concentrating on contract renewals, warranty conversions, spares sales, and on-call service business

Direct and develop the service contract portfolio, securing meaningful contract coverage, renewal rates, and profitability throughout assigned territories

Develop and implement strategies to convert warranty customers to comprehensive service contracts, improving customer lifetime value

Drive spares business through proactive customer engagement and identification of customer needs with the help of regional service team

Promote and sell on-call service offerings, qualification activities, hardware upgrades, software upgrades, and customized service products to customers

Manage important customer accounts in the North and East regions, starting and developing solid customer connections

Observe rival activities within the service commercial business and formulate opposing strategies

Identify and nurture new business opportunities for CMD (Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry) products and services throughout India

Generate new business from existing customers and expand footprint in untapped market segments

Build strategic partnerships and relationships with key decision-makers in target industries

Develop and complete go-to-market strategies for new CMD service offerings

Conduct comprehensive business analysis of India CMD operations, including revenue trends, customer segmentation, and market opportunities

Analyze contract renewal patterns, warranty conversion rates, and service penetration metrics to identify improvement areas

Develop data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize service commercial performance

Create and maintain business dashboards and reports for leadership review

Accurately forecast future business and plan service sales activities well in advance using data analytics

Develop and maintain detailed customer/prospect records and ensure that relevant sales tools reflect this information

Track important metrics including contract coverage, renewal rates, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction indicators

Formulate competitive and data-driven pricing quotations aligned with business objectives

Formulate regional business plans for North and East territories that include specific revenue objectives and expansion strategies

Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with service delivery, technical, and commercial teams

Present business reviews and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Essential Qualifications and Experience

Preference given to graduates holding a Science or Engineering degree; having an MBA or a pertinent business qualification is beneficial

5-8 years of experience in service sales, business development, or commercial positions, preferably within scientific instruments, analytical equipment, or the life sciences sector

Established success in reaching income objectives and promoting company development

Background in handling sizable regional zones (North and East India favored)

Proficient in English in read, write and speak; knowledge of Hindi and regional languages is advantageous

Strong business insight with ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, reporting, and forecasting

Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage and influence at all levels, from technical users to C-suite executives

Strong negotiation skills with capability to finalize complex agreements

Driven by sales objectives; highly motivated to meet targets and deliver business results

Comfortable with regular travel throughout North and East India (40-50% travel anticipated)
