Senior SAP PS Consultant/Lead

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis of complex client business requirements and translate them into robust and scalable SAP PS solutions.
• Design and architect comprehensive SAP PS solutions, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Networks, Activities, Milestones, Cost Planning, Budgeting, Resource Management, Results Analysis, Project Settlement, and Project Reporting.
• Develop detailed functional specifications for custom developments (RICEFW - Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
  

Configuration & Implementation

• Perform hands-on configuration and customization of the SAP PS module to meet identified business requirements.
• Ensure seamless integration of SAP PS with other key SAP modules, including but not limited to :
• SAP FI/CO : General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, CO-PA.
• SAP MM : Procurement, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• SAP SD : Sales Order Management, Resource-Related Billing (RRB), Sales Pricing.
• SAP HR : Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS) integration for time recording and cost allocation.
• SAP PP : Production Planning (for project-based manufacturing scenarios).
• Lead and support data migration activities related to SAP PS.
  

Project Leadership & Management

• Lead and facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define processes, and validate solutions.
• Manage and mentor junior SAP PS consultants, providing guidance, technical expertise, and quality assurance for their deliverables.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and ensure adherence to best practices and project methodologies (e.g., SAP Activate, Agile).
• Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies.
  

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans (unit, integration, UAT).
• Lead and execute system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Ensure all SAP PS configurations are thoroughly tested, validated, and meet business requirements.
• Oversee defect resolution and ensure proper testing sign-off.
  

Support & Optimization

• Provide expert-level support for SAP PS issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of SAP PS functionalities and related business processes.
• Stay updated with the latest SAP PS functionalities, S/4HANA innovations, and industry best practices.
  

Documentation & Training

• Develop and maintain high-quality project documentation, including business blueprints, functional specifications, configuration documents, and test scripts.
• Lead and conduct training sessions for end-users and internal teams to ensure effective adoption and utilization of SAP PS.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 11 years of hands-on experience as an SAP Project Systems (PS) Functional Consultant, with a significant portion in a lead or senior capacity.
• Proven experience in at least 3-4 full lifecycle SAP PS implementations, including blueprinting, configuration, testing, go-live, and post-go-live support.
• In-depth functional and configuration knowledge of all key SAP PS components, including :
• WBS Elements, Networks, Activities, Milestones
• Project Profiles, Network Profiles, PS Texts, Coding Masks
• Cost Planning (Easy Cost Planning, Unit Costing, Network Costing)
• Budget Management (Original Budget, Supplements, Returns, Transfers, Availability Control)
• Resource Related Billing (DIP Profiles, sales order integration)
• Project Settlement (settlement rules, settlement profiles, results analysis)
• Progress Analysis (EVM, Progress versions)
• ross-Application Time Sheet (CATS) integration.
• Strong integration knowledge with SAP FI/CO (especially Controlling aspects like cost elements, controlling areas, profit centers), MM, SD, and HR.
• Experience with S/4HANA a strong plus, including exposure to Fiori apps for PS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Superior communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team, leading and influencing others effectively.
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain strong Qualifications :
• SAP PS certification (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate - Project Systems).
• Experience in specific industry sectors (e.g., Public Sector, Aerospace & Defense, Engineering, Construction, Professional Services).
• Knowledge of SAP PPM (Portfolio and Project Management) or other related project management tools.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and ITIL processes.
• Basic ABAP debugging skills to assist with issue resolution.
