Speciality Chemicals:
The Specialty Chemical business of Jubilant Ingrevia manufactures Pyridine, Picolines and its forward integration derivatives, which finds application in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, solvents, metal finishes, fine chemicals, semiconductors etc.We have also launched new platform of Diketene & its value-added derivatives for multiple industry use. Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimization
- Ensure cost-effective, non-infringing route selection and process development for both existing and new products.
- Conduct feasibility assessments, optimization studies, and process validation in the lab, followed by seamless tech-pack transfer.
- Design and execute experiments involving a wide range of organic reactions, including product characterization and process condition optimization.
- Lead the end-to-end development of new products—from concept through to commercialization.
- Manage R&D projects from ideation to execution, including planning, experimentation, data analysis, and reporting.
- Perform 2–3 chemical reactions daily while providing leadership and guidance to Research Associates (RAs) and Senior Research Associates (SRAs).
- Identify and control critical process parameters to ensure reproducibility, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Product Monitoring & Technical Support
- Support cost-reduction initiatives, troubleshooting, performance testing, and the development of new molecules as directed by the R&D or business teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis and resolve process issues to improve efficiency and minimize waste.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain competitiveness of key projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
Scale-Up & Manufacturing Support
- Lead scale-up activities for new products, ensuring smooth transitions from lab to pilot plant and full-scale production.
- Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring all team members are trained and compliant.
- Support plant commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure successful startup and sustained operations.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and business teams to resolve production challenges and optimize processes.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all experimental work is documented in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards immediately after execution.
- Maintain accurate and complete lab records to support regulatory and quality compliance
The Person
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from one of the top 5 institutes in the state or country.
- 10-11 years of experience in the field of Biocide Synthesis.
Competency Levels:
- General Awareness:
- Possesses a fundamental understanding of concepts.
- Working Knowledge:
- Systematic approach for objective
- Has a good job knowledge and applies a full range of concepts and practices.
- Utilizes these concepts in day-to-day activities.
Professional Skills:
- Working exposure in all R&D activities. Carrying out reactions. Preparation of reports. Characterization of compounds using full scope of instrumentation (NMR, LCMS, XRD, SCM, ICP, HPLC, UV-Visible and IR).
- Strong skills inexperimental design,data analysis, andscientific documentation.
- Expertise inprocess optimization,scale-up, andtech transfer.
- Proven track record in the field with extensive knowledge of Organic Chemistry.
- Strong command over recent developments in the relevant field.
- Drive forinnovationin product and process development.
