Position Overview

The BU Head – Water Business Unit will be responsible for leading the execution of all water-related projects, including large-scale irrigation systems and water treatment plant installations. The role will oversee the complete EPC cycle — from tendering and estimation to project execution and handover — while leading a team of Segment Managers and Project Managers to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Lead and manage the Water Business Unit in alignment with company goals.
• Develop annual operational plans, budgets, and manpower/resource allocation for irrigation and water treatment projects.

2. Tendering & Estimation

• Oversee preparation, review, and submission of tenders and bids for irrigation projects and water treatment plants.
• Evaluate technical and commercial feasibility before tender participation.

3. Project Execution & Delivery

• Monitor and control execution of multiple irrigation and water treatment projects simultaneously.
• Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, quality standards, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and quality teams for smooth workflow.

4. Resource & Vendor Management

• Approve manpower deployment and resource allocation for all projects.
• Oversee vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.

5. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, environmental guidelines, and safety protocols.
• Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and safety reviews regularly.

6. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor Segment Managers and Project Managers to deliver operational excellence.
• Provide guidance, monitor performance, and build leadership capacity within the BU team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Ensure timely and accurate project progress reports, cost tracking, and documentation.
• Present regular operational performance updates to top management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering (MBA preferred).
• 12–18 years of experience in water infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Hands-on experience in execution of irrigation projects and water treatment plants.

• On-time and within-budget completion of projects.
• Zero major safety or quality non-compliances.
• Effective resource and cost management.
