Role Overview
As APAC Regional Counsel, you will be an integral member of our Global legal team coordinating with internal stakeholders, including senior management, business unit leaders, the sales team, and human resources team, while working collaboratively with legal teammates in the US, UK, and EU. The successful role holder will be responsible for identifying and advising on legal risks and contractual issues and interpreting, drafting and negotiating agreements with third parties, including customers, vendors and consultants. The successful role holder also will provide legal support for privacy and data usage matters, employment matters and cross-border transactions, and coordinate closely with outside counsel and our internal Compliance, Internal Audit and HR teams. As directed by the Chief Legal Officer and the Assistant General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, who are both based in our US corporate headquarters, you’ll have the ability to work on, or spearhead, the legal efforts for various additional projects.

Qualifications
Necessary Qualifications for Success
- You are a qualified and licensed attorney in your relevant jurisdiction (India or Singapore preferred);
- You will have substantial relevant legal experience or working knowledge of the following jurisdictions: India, Nepal, Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea and Australia; in-house experience is strongly preferred;
- You have strong corporate law and transactional experience with deep expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and advising on employment law; experience with international cross-border transactions, a plus;
- You have a keen understanding and interest in intellectual property, technology, data privacy and protection, particularly as it relates to sophisticated data analytics and insights;
- Insurance industry experience and knowledge of the global and regional insurance and reinsurance markets a plus;
- You are an effective negotiator with a good sense for practical business solutions;
- You are self-assured and comfortable working independently and collaborating with, and providing guidance to, teammates in the US, UK, and EU regions;
- You are energetic with a dynamic personality and can inspire the confidence of the business team, management, departmental colleagues and other support groups;
- You have excellent negotiation, drafting, analytical, verbal and written communication skills;
- You effectively prioritize and manage multiple matters in a timely manner;
