Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive
Senior IT Systems Engineer
to manage, support, and enhance our global IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across hardware, networking, cloud, and security domains, with a strong focus on operational excellence, documentation, and compliance. This role requires an analytical problem solver who can work collaboratively across teams and adapt to changing business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware & IT Support
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues across desktops, laptops, and servers.
- Perform upgrades (RAM, SSD, etc.) and troubleshoot peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.).
- Maintain end-user devices and ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations.
- IT Ticketing & User Support
- Manage and resolve IT service requests and incidents via a ticketing system.
- Handle software installations, access management, and user account administration.
- Research new tools, technologies, or solutions as required to resolve complex issues.
- Team Coordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Admin, Security, and Network teams to coordinate cross-departmental tasks.
- Support remote teams across India, the US, and Australia during their respective working hours.
- Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain and update IT asset inventory and lifecycle tracking.
- Ensure timely asset allocation, deallocation, and maintenance records.
- Network Security & Infrastructure
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking devices — firewalls, routers, switches, and access points.
- Monitor network performance, connectivity, and security incidents.
- Implement and maintain secure VPNs, VLANs, and site-to-site tunnels.
- Vulnerability Management
- Operate and maintain Nessus or equivalent vulnerability management platforms.
- Perform scheduled scans, generate reports, and coordinate remediation with relevant teams.
- Assist in vulnerability lifecycle management and patch verification.
- Compliance & Information Security (ISO 27001, SOC, etc.)
- Support internal and external audits through documentation and evidence collection.
- Participate in implementation and maintenance of ISO 27001 controls and related frameworks.
- Ensure compliance across IT systems, policies, and procedures.
- Penetration Testing (Preferred)
- Conduct or coordinate periodic network and wireless penetration testing.
- Review findings, assess risks, and implement corrective measures.
- Cloud Infrastructure (AWS Preferred)
- Deploy and manage cloud-based servers, networking, and security configurations.
- Work with IAM, S3, EC2, and other AWS services to ensure secure, scalable infrastructure.
- Leadership, Communication & Learning
- Demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn emerging technologies.
- Act as a mentor and guide for junior IT staff members.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain flexibility in work hours to support multiple global locations.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Mac environments.
- Proficiency in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Firewalls).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Intune.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Tenable Nessus).
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 and other security frameworks.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, CEH, CISSP, OSCP, CCNA, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or ISO 27001 Implementer.
- Experience in scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions.
