Job Description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Perform inspection of parts and valves as per approved quality plans and prepare comprehensive dimensional and visual inspection reports.

  • Review and approve material test certificates (MTCs) in line with relevant specifications and applicable national/international standards.

  • Prepare complete CMTR (Certified Material Test Report) documentation packages in compliance with approved ITPs and specification requirements.

  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors and customers during FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) inspections, ensuring timely resolution of any punch points raised.

  • Identify and record inspection outcomes (Accepted / Non-conforming) for inspected parts and valves, updating the ORACLE system accordingly.

  • Segregate non-conforming parts into designated quarantine areas with appropriate identification and traceability.

  • Conduct daily MRB (Material Review Board) meetings and ensure timely disposition and closure of non-conformances.

  • Investigate quality issues, present root cause findings, recommend and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor process performance, generate regular reports, and administer necessary corrective actions.

  • Conduct internal and in-process quality audits, perform root cause analysis (RCA) for audit findings, and ensure effective implementation of improvements.

  • Coordinate with the Plant CSN Champion to address customer complaints, perform RCA, and ensure sustainable corrective action implementation.

  • Establish, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inspection, measuring, and test equipment.

  • Lead and participate in measurement improvement projects, including small and breakthrough kaizens, to enhance reliability and accuracy.

  • You establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results, build and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations and credit others for their contributions and accomplishments.
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Good knowledge in inspection of casting and precision-machined components.

  • Basic understanding of GD&T principles, including interpretation of position tolerances.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

  • Skilled in handling basic linear measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore dial gauges, 2D Microhite, and surface finish testers.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in CMM inspection and contour tracer operation.

  • Basic computer proficiency for report preparation and documentation (MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing processes, including machining operations.

  • Strong ability to interpret part drawings, general arrangement drawings (GADs), customer specifications, and relevant national and international valve and material standards.

  • Proven knowledge in inspection techniques for cast and precision-machined components, ensuring accurate and timely data for informed decision-making.

  • Experienced in operating and handling measuring instruments such as CMM, 2D height gauge, surface roughness tester, and general inspection tools.

  • Working knowledge and practical exposure to PPAP, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Sound understanding of GD&T principles, including application of position tolerances as per engineering drawings.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in preparing technical documentation and inspection reports.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • BE with 8 – 12 years / DME with 12 -15 years of experience.

  • Reduce customer complaints to achieve DPPM < 450.

  • Ensure > 90% of non-conforming parts and assembly holds are disposed of within 2 working days.

  • Maintain > 98% adherence to the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) schedule.

  • Sustain > 99% accuracy in quality and inspection documentation.

  • Achieve annual cost savings of ₹10 lakhs or more through Kaizens and improvement projects.
