The AIM (Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement) team – a part of GCS Marketing– is the analytical engine that enables Global Commercial business portfolio of American Express. Accelerating growth momentum, increasing profitability, and powering up our value proposition are key objectives for this organization. The team enables GCS Marketing business by providing actionable insights to drive business strategy and growth.
The Analyst will be responsible for AI/ML matching framework, tech platform expertise to build the commercial prospect database & optimize usage. You will be challenged with designing and creating world class prospect marketing analytics by leveraging machine learning and advanced methodologies.
The roles and responsibilities of the position would include but not be limited to:
· Evaluate, maintain, and continuously enhance existing AI/ML matching algorithms based on the evolving needs and data availability, while supporting development and delivery of a vision, strategy, and roadmap to achieve a next-generation matching capability.
· Explore the usage and implementation of data mining techniques, including regression analysis, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, NLP solutions, and Generative AI (GenAI) models to unlock new insights and automation opportunities.
· Apply GenAI frameworks and tools (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG pipelines) to enhance analytics workflows, automate data understanding, and support intelligent data product development.
· Experience in deploying and managing data products and solutions across a variety of platforms and technologies such as Big Data, PySpark, SQL, Hive, Scala, Python.
· Bring a strong technical foundation; strong understanding of coding practices, architecture, design, and the ability to get under the hood of complex integrated architectures, coding systems, and interface design.
· Collaborate successfully with product owners, designers, and a broad set of internal technical partners (across multiple internal groups).
· Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics).
· 1-3 years of working experience in analytics industry
· Hands-on familiarity with Generative AI tools, LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Claude), and prompt engineering , with the ability to identify practical use cases within analytics or business workflows.
· Experience using SQL/HQL, and Statistical Programming (Python),Pyspark,etc.
· Proficiency & experience in applying cutting edge statistical and machine learning techniques (including XGBoost, Decision Trees, etc.) to business problems and leverage external thinking to develop best in class data science solutions.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate between various technical and non-technical audiences
· Excellent planning and organizations skills including ability to manage inter-dependencies and execute under stringent timelines
· Proactive learner with the ability to quickly learn new concepts and techniques with minimal supervision
· Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics).
· Strong knowledge and experience with Natural Language Processing (including fuzzy matching, similarity scores, etc.).
· Good knowledge of statistical techniques like hypothesis testing, regression, knn, ttest, chi-square test
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and across a matrix organization partnering with capabilities, decision sciences, technology teams and external vendors to deliver solutions at top speed.
· Experience with commercial data and ability to create insights and drive results.
