Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing saree manufacturing and retail business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in textile or garment accounting, with a keen understanding of inventory control, retail sales, artisan/vendor payments, and compliance with GST and export regulations. Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting & ReportingManage day-to-day accounting functions including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Handle petty cash, cash flow planning, and inter-branch transactions. Inventory & Cost AccountingMaintain detailed inventory records for sarees by category, design, and SKU. Track raw material procurement (silk, cotton, zari, etc.) and finished goods movement. Monitor wastage, quality issues, and returns. Support costing for each saree based on weaving, dyeing, embellishment, and packaging. Vendor & Artisan ManagementManage payments to weavers, artisans, and vendors with proper documentation. Maintain vendor ledgers and ensure timely reconciliations. Handle advance payments, credit terms, and TDS deductions for service providers. Sales & Retail AccountingReconcile online and offline sales (POS, e-commerce, marketplaces). Track receivables and ensure timely collection from B2B clients or retailers. Coordinate with the sales team for promotional expense tracking and margin analysis. Taxation & ComplianceEnsure timely filing of GST returns, TDS, and other statutory obligations. Handle audits – internal, statutory, and GST. Prepare documentation for export shipments, duty drawbacks, and compliance with DGFT regulations (if applicable). 6. System & Process ImprovementImplement and maintain accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho, or ERP). Improve internal controls and accounting processes.
