Job Description

Supports the Company’s financial operations by managing accounting functions related to Pre-Close, Receivables, Invoicing, and Payables for a portfolio of properties. The role focuses on proactive financial review before Accounting Month-End (AME) close, accurate receivables posting, efficient invoice processing, and eviction documentation. Resources play a critical part in ensuring timely, accurate financial transactions while assisting internal teams and stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts Pre-Close activities a week prior to Accounting Month-End to proactively identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
  2. Reviews daily transactions and property activities, including tenant notices, move-ins, move-outs, and month-to-month status changes.
  3. Verifies accurate posting of Accounts Receivable (AR) entries in the Property Management System (PMS).
  4. Reviews credit card and payment dashboards to identify pending payments or inconsistencies.
  5. Clears open batches, verifies NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) payments, and applies open credits as needed.
  6. Processes write-offs and reviews the Bank Deposit Register and related reports for accuracy.
  7. Analyzes Security Deposit and Gross Potential Rent (GPR) reports to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  8. Creates payment batches and zero-dollar receipts for outstanding tenant payments in the PMS.
  9. Gathers and prepares required documentation for the eviction process post tenant move-out.
  10. Processes vendor invoices daily across multiple properties, ensuring adherence to TAT and SLA.
  11. Investigates and resolves discrepancies in disputed, rejected, or exception invoices by coordinating with vendors and the onshore team.
  12. Verifies and uploads move-out statements to reflect the final tenant obligations before departure.

Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).
  • Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, property, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor/resident injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).

  • Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.

  • Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs, researching and/or subscribing to the internet or other professional publications, or utilizing other appropriate method(s) to obtain business and professional information, and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Financial Oversight:

    Oversee and manage multiple accounting domains. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Process Improvement:

    Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations. Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., YARDI, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions

Working Conditions:

  • Incumbents work in an office environment.

Required Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
