Job Description: Accountant for a Commercial Interior Design and Build Company

As we continue to expand our operations nationwide, we are seeking a meticulous and proactive accountant to join our finance team.

Position Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and supporting the financial operations of the company. This role will primarily involve managing accounts payable/receivable, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities. The accountant will also provide critical financial data to help guide decision-making on large commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Record-Keeping

o Maintain and update accurate financial records for all transactions related to the company’s operations, including vendor payments, client billings, payroll, etc.

o Ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions in line with accounting standards.

• Accounts Payable & Receivable

o Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors and subcontractors.

o Generate and manage client invoices, ensuring collections are made in a timely manner.

o Reconcile supplier and client accounts.

• Issuing Purchase Orders (POs)

o Issue purchase orders (POs) to vendors for materials, equipment, and services required for ongoing and upcoming projects.

o Ensure POs align with project budgets and procurement requirements.

o Coordinate with the procurement and project teams to confirm the accuracy of purchase orders before issuance.

• Project Costing & Job Costing

o Track and record costs related to each commercial interior project, including materials, labor, and subcontractor expenses.

o Prepare cost reports and analysis for ongoing projects, helping project managers stay within budget.

• Work with the project management team to ensure proper allocation of costs across projects.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
• Analyze financial performance against budget and historical data, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and corporate reporting requirements.
• Cash Flow Management
• Monitor cash flow and provide forecasts to ensure the company maintains sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations.
• Support in the preparation of cash flow statements to assist in project financing and capital expenditure.
• Taxation & Compliance
• Ensure timely filing of all tax-related documents (GST, TDS, income tax) and compliance with applicable tax laws.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance and resolve any discrepancies.
• Payroll Management
• Process payroll for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Manage statutory deductions and other employee-related financial transactions.
• Financial Planning & Budgeting Support
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for projects and the company as a whole.
• Analyze project budgets, identify variances, and provide corrective action recommendations.
• Internal Controls & Audit
• Ensure the company adheres to internal financial control policies and procedures.
• Assist in internal and external audits by preparing relevant financial documentation and reports.
• Collaboration with Other Teams
• Work closely with the project management team to ensure accurate billing, project costing, and financial tracking.
• Collaborate with senior management to analyze financial performance and make data-driven decisions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CA preferred).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a construction, interior design, or large project-based industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP).
• Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to manage large datasets and generate reports.
• Familiarity with GST, TDS, and other applicable tax laws.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various teams.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
• Corporate accounting: 3 years (Required)
