Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify new business opportunities across

    OEMs, fabricators, appliance manufacturers, infra contractors, and traders

  • Generate leads via

    cold calling, field visits, referrals, and digital tools

  • Present the company’s steel products and processing capabilities to potential clients and convert them into long-term partners
  • Work closely with the BD Head to

    expand customer base, revive dormant accounts

    , and

    strengthen existing partnerships

  • Ensure

    end-to-end ownership

    of client onboarding: from lead generation to negotiation, documentation, and handover to execution

Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain consistent communication with clients to understand evolving needs, production plans, and supply chain requirements
  • Coordinate with internal departments (PPC, QC, Dispatch, Accounts) to ensure

    timely and accurate fulfillment of client orders

  • Address service concerns or quality feedback proactively and align resolution with internal teams
  • Ensure

    payment follow-ups

    , reconciliation support, and documentation closure

Sales Execution & Performance Tracking

  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual

    sales revenue targets

  • Track daily sales activities, quotation status, and deal progress using internal tools or trackers
  • Prepare structured weekly and monthly reports for the BD Head and management, including:
    • Lead funnel status
    • Customer meeting summaries
    • Revenue forecasts
    • Key competitor movements

Market Intelligence & Competition Analysis

  • Stay updated on:
    • Steel pricing trends and mill behavior
    • Buyer cycles, demand patterns, and seasonality
    • Competitor offerings, rate strategies, and market share
  • Provide actionable inputs to BD Head and Plant to improve service, pricing, or customer handling strategies
  • Identify gaps in current offerings and suggest

    new opportunities for value-added products or services


Internal Coordination & Execution Support

  • Align with plant PPC team on production planning and customer delivery schedules
  • Liaise with dispatch/logistics team for shipment tracking and on-time execution
  • Follow up with accounts for

    invoicing, debit/credit note issues, and documentation

  • Participate in cross-functional reviews and strategy meetings with the BD team

Key Skills & Competencies

Technical & Industry

  • Good knowledge of steel products such as

    GP/CRCA/HR/Colour Coated Sheets, Rebars, Structural Steel

  • Familiarity with

    coil processing capabilities

    like slitting, decoiling, tension levelling, and profiling
  • Understanding of the buyer mindset in

    OEM, appliance, infra, or fabrication industries


Communication & Relationship Building

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in English and

    Tamil (mandatory)

    for client interaction
  • Able to build trust and long-term engagement with clients and vendors

Sales & Analytical

  • Strong negotiation and deal-closing ability
  • Target-driven and structured in sales planning
  • Good with reporting, Excel tracking, and performance analysis

Ownership & Attitude

  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency
  • Willing to travel extensively within TN and nearby industrial hubs
  • Operates with discipline, integrity, and follow-through
  • Open to learning and aligned with performance-focused culture
