Job Description: Sales Engineer – Condition Monitoring & Reliability Services

Position Title: Sales Engineer

Department: Sales & Business Development

Location: Pune (Field visits across India)

Industry: Condition Monitoring, CBM, Vibration Analysis, Reliability Engineering


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer with strong technical knowledge in Condition Monitoring (CBM), Vibration Analysis, Ultrasound, Thermography, MCSA, Oil Analysis, and Reliability Services.

The candidate will be responsible for pre-sales, technical sales, and post-sales customer support, driving new business, building client relationships, and supporting project execution.


The ideal candidate should have hands-on exposure to industrial equipment, predictive maintenance techniques, and must confidently present technical solutions to customers.


Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Sales & Technical Consultation

Understand customer requirements, site conditions, and machinery details.

Conduct pre-sales meetings, presentations, demos, and technical discussions.

Perform basic vibration/CBM preliminary assessments during pre-sales visits.

Prepare technical proposals, solution designs, BOQs, and cost estimations.

Coordinate with the engineering team for customized solutions.


2. Technical Sales & Business Development

Promote CBM-related services:

Vibration Analysis, Ultrasound Monitoring, Thermography, Laser Alignment, Dynamic Balancing, Remote Monitoring Systems, Reliability Audits & RCA

Identify new customers in automotive, energy, manufacturing, chemical, steel, pharma, cement, oil & gas, and other industrial segments.

Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets.

Conduct product demos for online monitoring systems, DAQ systems, sensors, and gateways.

Prepare and deliver professional technical presentations.


3. Post-Sales Support & Customer Relationship

Assist customers with installation coordination, data interpretation, and system usage.

Provide basic CBM training, report explanation, and support.

Ensure customer satisfaction and repeat orders.

Handle customer escalations and coordinate with technical teams.

Maintain long-term relationships with key accounts.


4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain CRM records, daily visit reports, and opportunity tracking.

Prepare visit reports, action plans, and follow-up notes.

Support tender documentation and compliance.

Provide inputs for marketing materials, case studies, and success stories.


Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of CBM technologies:

Vibration Analysis, FFT, Time Waveform, Bearing Faults, Misalignment, Balancing, Resonance, MCSA, Thermography, Ultrasound, Oil Analysis.

Understanding of ISO 10816 / 20816, maintenance strategies, and rotating equipment basics.

Ability to interpret vibration reports (basic to intermediate).

Knowledge of online monitoring systems and sensors will be an advantage.


Sales Skills

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Ability to explain technical solutions in simple language.

Customer relationship management.

Experience in field sales / industrial B2B sales.

Ability to handle pre-sales and post-sales independently.

Personal Attributes

Self-motivated and result-oriented.

Strong problem-solving mindset.

Good documentation and reporting skills.

Willingness to travel frequently.


Qualifications & Experience


Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical.

1–7 years of experience in Condition Monitoring, Reliability Engineering, Industrial Sales, or CBM Services.

Certification such as Mobius CAT-I / CAT-II, Thermography Level-1, Ultrasound Level-1 will be preferred.
