About the role:

Business Development Manager / AVP – Business Development

This is a strategic and execution-focused role that involves managing client relationships, leading sales initiatives, and collaborating with internal teams (Sales, Research, Content, and Outreach) to drive business outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience:

    5-12 years of experience in international business development, with a strong preference for backgrounds in SaaS or knowledge services (e.g., patents, business research, legal, market intelligence).
  • Proven Track Record:

    Demonstrable success in closing deals and consistently achieving revenue targets.
  • Global B2B Expertise:

    Extensive experience in global B2B client interaction, including cold calling, solution selling, and expertly navigating complex conversations.
  • Strategic Acumen:

    Strong strategic thinking with the ability to lead multi-functional initiatives.
  • Leadership Exposure:

    Experience managing or mentoring a team of business development executives and coordinating with cross-functional units.
  • Domain Understanding:

    Technical or domain-specific knowledge to effectively articulate service benefits to sophisticated clients.


Nice to Have:

·       Prior experience in business development roles specifically within patent research firms.

·       Familiarity with CRM tools, outbound email campaigns, and lead nurturing workflows.

·       Experience participating in or driving RFP responses, client onboarding, or long-cycle enterprise deals.

  • Excellent communication and persuasive writing skills.
  • Energetic and self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Confident, proactive, and capable of handling senior-level client discussions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and an understanding of consultative selling.
