Quality Engineer

Own end-of-line quality and customer delivery readiness. You’ll lead PDI for precision-machined components and assemblies, ensure conformance to drawings/specs, and drive zero-defect shipments.

• Execute PDI as per Control Plan, sampling plans, and customer-specific requirements.
• Verify geometry & critical-to-quality (CTQ) features using CMM, height gauge, bore gauge, surface roughness tester, thread gauges, plug gauges, etc.
• Review COAs/COCs, heat-treatment & plating certificates (e.g., Mn-Phosphating, Thin Dense Chrome per AMS 2438, Zn-flake), and ensure traceability.
• Validate packaging, preservation, labeling, barcodes, and export/dispatch documentation.
• Approve/reject lots; issue NCRs; perform 5-Why/Root Cause & CAPA with Production/Process/Plating.
• Maintain PDI checklists, inspection records in ERP; update dashboards/Andon/Hawk-Eye.
• Support PPAP/FAI, gauge R&R, MSA, and customer audits; participate in internal audits.
• Drive continual improvement (7QC tools, Kaizen) to reduce in-process and PDI rejections.
• Train operators/inspectors on gauges, defect catalogs, and handling procedures.

• Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering.
• 2–5 years in final inspection/PDI at a precision machining or auto/rail/defense/aerospace supplier.
• Strong drawing interpretation (GD&T), fits & tolerances, surface finish, threads.
• Hands-on with CMM/basic metrology and calibration fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of Control Plans, PFMEA basics, PPAP/FAI, NCR/CAPA.
• Proficiency in ERP entry, Excel, and report writing.

• Exposure to IRIS/ISO-TS 22163, IATF 16949; AS9100D/FAI experience.
• Knowledge of plating/coating inspection and packaging for export.
• MSA, SPC, and gauge R&R execution experience.
• Basic understanding of Industry 4.0 dashboards and Andon.

• High ownership, meticulous attention to detail, calm under dispatch pressure.
• Clear communicator with shopfloor teams and customers.
• Problem-solver with a bias for data and speed.

• General shift; flexibility for customer expedites as needed.
• Reports to: Quality Manager / MR.

• Work with global OEM programs (rail, defense, medical, hydraulics).
• Structured learning: metrology upskilling, PPAP/FAI, audit exposure.
• Growth path toward Supplier Quality / Customer Quality roles.
