Job Title

Lead FQA / Quality Assurance Manager

Job Objective
  • Manage QA across multiple projects at corporate and site levels.
  • Implement and shape the company's QA processes and strategies.
  • Motivate and develop team members.
  • Maintain quality assurance principles and work quality.
  • Prepare QA requirements for substation and TL works.
  • Attend various project meetings.
  • Strengthen field quality knowledge at sites.
  • Conduct regular field inspections.
  • Coordinate QA&I with TPIA, site team, and EPC.
  • Prepare FQPs, checklists, and site protocols for major electrical equipment.
  • Review and approve quality documents from EPC.
  • Support site teams in identifying quality requirements.
  • Review TPIA reports, invoices, CPBG, and SO closure.
  • Prepare and approve quality documents (MQP, FQP, ITP, PQP).
Roles and ResponsibilitiesStrategic
  • Provide technical leadership in QA for Substation & TL Projects.
  • Define and implement QA strategy and processes.
  • Lead and direct the QA team and TPIA engineers.
  • Focus on continuous QA improvements.
  • Communicate QA vision to stakeholders.
  • Participate in interviews, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor QA activities and implement improvements.
  • Coordinate with site teams, EPC, and TPIA for timely inspections.
  • Develop SOPs, SFQPs, and checklists for construction activities.
  • Review FQPs, method statements, and procedures from EPC.
  • Conduct construction audits and capture safety observations.
  • Engage TPIA for construction inspections.
  • Ensure timely compliance with observations and escalate delays.
  • Maintain site observation data and submit reports.
  • Witness material testing at sites.
  • Conduct RCA for critical issues and suggest CAPA.
  • Ensure timely clearance of TPIA invoices.
  • Compute TPIA costs for project bidding.
Civil
  • Review and optimize concrete mix designs.
  • Review PIT reports for piling works.
  • Inspect and test civil materials.
  • Prepare QA requirements for civil packages.
  • Assess vendors and apply IS code/Morth revisions.
Electrical
  • Review MST/protocols for major electrical equipment.
  • Witness electrical equipment testing as required.
People Management
  • Collaborate with and manage the team.
  • Promote collaboration and respect.
  • Ensure smooth communication with stakeholders.
  • Identify training needs for team growth.
Key Interactions
  • Internal: Engineering, PMCG, Site Team, Energy Contracts Management Group, Bidding & Survey.
  • External: EPC/Bidder, OEM/Supplier, TPIA, NABL Lab/Testing agency.

Job Profile
  • Educational Qualification: Engineering Graduate (Electrical/Civil)
  • Experience: 5-12 years in QA&I for TL & Substation Projects and piling works.
  • Skills: Knowledge of Indian & International Codes & Standards, NDT level 2 preferred, concrete mix design, civil material testing, electrical equipment testing, HVDC substation project experience.
