The Opportunity OpenText is looking for a QA Engineer to be a key member of the global SMBC Development team. We’re looking for someone with a passion for leveraging test automation to deliver high-quality solutions to market. As a hands-on developer, coach, and evangelist, the candidate will influence and guide agile development teams toward quality engineering within a DevOps culture. This is a rare opportunity to participate from the earliest stages of development of a cloud native, hyperscaler-enabled, API-driven and Responsive Web business enablement infrastructure that will ultimately be a market conduit for hundreds of diverse products and marshal billions of dollars of business for OpenText partners and customers. Due to the diversity and scale of integration requirements, applied technologies will span Linux/Windows/Azure/Amazon environments. Candidate subsystem technologies, will include React, Angular, Kubernetes/containers, IPaaS, MongoDB, Redis, Postgresql, Elasticsearch, API Gateway Micro Frontend and many other contemporary software enablers. In this job you will: Work alongside Product Owners, Developers, and fellow QA team members to plan test automation and architectural evolution for new and existing products Apply and enhance understanding of practices of risk-driven exploratory testing Evaluate and inform automation solutions for current manual testing suites Collaborate with the development team to architect and develop automation testing practices, tools, and solutions Create and maintain automated regression, smoke, and feature-focused test suites Define test plans and create test scenarios and cases for web services, user interfaces, and back-end systems across multiple services Create and maintain test data for use with automated and manual testing Create and organize test documentation to provide audit and traceability reporting Troubleshoot and analyze test failures and drive resolutions All of the above while keeping the whole picture in mind as we unify multiple products, services and components into our new business integration platform What it takes: Proficiency in developing stable and maintainable automation frameworks and test data management systems in a shared environment Knowledge of how test automation fits within the Agile workflow An understanding of how test automation fits into an automated deployment pipeline (quality gates, CI/CD, deployment verification, etc.) A clear understanding of Agile/XP methodologies Experience using Selenium, JMeter, BlazeMeter, or comparable testing tools Proficiency in Java or .NET-based test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit/xUnit, Selenium, etc. Knowledge of API/REST testing, test frameworks, and tools such as Postman, Swagger, etc. Experience with all aspects of QA testing: unit, functional, integration, end to end, user interface, smoke, load, performance, and security testing (SAST, DAST, etc.) Strong planning, analysis, and problem-solving skills Basic competency with Git source control Exposure to quality tracking tools such as Azure DevOps (TFS) Knowledge of SQL queries. NoSQL DBs such as MongoDB, Cosmos DB is a plus Excellent written and verbal communications skills In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with various AZURE/AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation. Proficiency in container orchestration using Kubernetes. Understanding of deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications. Experience in setting up and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, preferably with Jenkins or equivalent tools. Strong scripting skills in Python, as well as familiarity with Shell scripting for automation tasks and infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform. Expertise in setting up and managing monitoring and logging solutions for AZURE/AWS infrastructure and applications, including tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or AWS CloudWatch. Hands-on experience in deploying applications to production environments on AZURE/AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance. Knowledge of AZURE/AWS security best practices and the ability to implement security measures, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
