Roles and Responsibilities:

Supplier Management:

• Identify, evaluate, and approve potential suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers.

Purchase Management:

• Process purchase orders (POs) based on company requirements.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials, goods, and services.
• Track and follow up on orders to ensure on-time delivery.

Cost Control:

• Compare and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure cost efficiency.
• Strive to achieve cost savings without compromising on quality.

Inventory Coordination:

• Coordinate with store/inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Monitor consumption patterns and adjust procurement plans accordingly.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, agreements, and contracts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Production, Quality, Accounts) to ensure smooth procurement

Planning and execution:

• Support project teams in sourcing project-specific materials and services.

Market Research:

• Stay informed on market trends, material availability, and price fluctuations.
• Recommend alternative products or suppliers when necessary.

Issue Resolution:

• Address issues related to defective goods, delivery delays, or invoice discrepancies.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve disputes efficiently.

Reporting:

• Prepare regular reports on purchasing status, cost savings, and vendor performance.
• Provide data-driven support for management decision-making.

Continuous Improvement:

• Propose and implement improvements in procurement processes.

Key Competencies:

• Must have thorough experience in imports and exports of materials, with strong knowledge of import/export procedures.
• Should possess in-depth knowledge of various types of steel, including coated and uncoated products.
• Experienced in PO release, negotiation, and material management.
• Proficient in material purchasing, supplier follow-ups, supplier identification, and inventory management.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B. Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Should have a minimum of 7+ years of experience within the Engineering or Automobile sectors.
