General Manager Plant Operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Plant Head in managing overall plant operations including production, quality, maintenance, logistics, and EHS.
• Supervise daily plant activities to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely manufacturing.
• Coordinate with department heads to ensure adherence to operational goals and KPIs.
• Lead productivity improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, etc.) Monitor resource utilization (manpower, materials, equipment) to improve plant efficiency.
• Act as the operational point of contact for vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental regulations.
• Assist in planning and implementing plant expansions or capital improvement projects.
• Generate MIS reports and performance dashboards for review with senior leadership.
• Step in and lead plant operations in the absence of the Plant Head.
• Ensure continuous monitoring of the manufacturing shop floor to proactively identify and eliminate safety risks such as metal scrap, misplaced tools, unsecured materials, and poor housekeeping conditions in order to maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.

Qualifications and experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical); MBA is a plus.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience in plant operations or manufacturing leadership roles.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven experience in handling teams, improving processes, and managing cross- functional coordination.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and modern manufacturing tools (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM).
