Job Title: Purchase Executive

Department: Procurement / Supply Chain

Reports To: Purchase Manager / Head of Procurement

Location: Ahmedabad

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services to meet the company’s operational requirements. The role involves vendor management, cost control, and ensuring timely procurement while maintaining quality standards and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate terms, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Obtain and analyze quotations to determine the best value for money.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores, production, and accounts departments for procurement planning.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Track orders and ensure proper documentation, including invoices, delivery notes, and contracts.
  • Resolve supply, delivery, or invoice discrepancies.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regularly and recommend improvements or replacements.
  • Coordinate with the finance department for timely supplier payments.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reports.
  • Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new suppliers.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of procurement processes and documentation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle, etc.).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing (industry-specific experience preferred).
  • Certifications (optional): CPSM, CIPS, or other supply chain certifications are an advantage.

  • Cost savings achieved through negotiation.
  • On-time delivery rate.
  • Supplier performance and compliance.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of purchase documentation.
  • Inventory turnover and stock-out reduction.
