About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Production Planning & Control (PPC) Engineer
to join our team at a leading OEM in the automobile industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, material coordination, and capacity management. You will play a vital role in ensuring production operations run smoothly, efficiently, and meet both customer and business expectations in terms of time, cost, and quality.This role is perfect for individuals passionate about automotive manufacturing and eager to contribute to the timely and efficient delivery of world-class vehicles and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain efficient production schedules and plans based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate closely with procurement, stores, manufacturing, and quality departments to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor daily production progress and work with shop floor teams to meet planned targets and resolve bottlenecks.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials by balancing workloads across production lines.
- Review customer forecasts and communicate relevant production needs across departments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain and update Bill of Materials (BOM), work orders, and routing processes in the ERP/MRP system.
- Analyze production variances and suggest corrective actions to minimize disruptions and improve lead times.
- Handle material requirement planning (MRP) to align procurement and stock levels with production needs.
- Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory turnover.
- Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with the quality team to ensure that products meet specifications and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on production planning, delays, capacity analysis, and other metrics to management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Production Planning & Control in the automobile or related manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with OEM production systems, manufacturing processes, and automotive quality standards.
- Proficient in ERP/MRP software and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory management, and capacity planning.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, and Kaizen practices is an added advantage.
