Production Manager – Cast Film Production Plant

LOCATION: Agarwal Technoplast , Kharabwadi Chakan

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Production Manager with strong expertise in Cast Film Extrusion used in hygiene/packaging applications. The ideal candidate will lead the entire production floor — ensuring maximum productivity, quality consistency, machine uptime, safety compliance, and team performance. This role requires strong technical understanding of extrusion lines, raw materials, downstream equipment, and mechanical troubleshooting, along with exceptional planning and people management capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production & Process Management

• Plan, execute, and monitor entire production operations across shifts

• Achieve daily/monthly production targets with optimal machine utilization

• Ensure correct recipe/settings for film specifications as per quality standards

• Maintain process parameters to reduce waste and enhance productivity

• Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

Mechanical & Equipment Handling

• Lead breakdown maintenance and coordinate preventive maintenance with the maintenance team

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues on cast film extrusion lines and ancillary machines

• Maintain spare parts inventory control and ensure minimum downtime

Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure film quality meets product specifications (thickness, GSM, properties, roll quality)

• Work closely with QC for corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)

• Drive root-cause analysis for deviations and recurring issues

• Ensure adherence to plant safety, health, and environment standards (SHE)

Manpower & Team Leadership

• Supervise production shift teams and allocate responsibilities

• Train operators and technicians on machine handling and safety procedures

• Foster discipline, teamwork, and performance improvements

Supply Chain Coordination

• Coordinate with planning, purchase, and warehouse for raw materials availability

• Optimize production scheduling based on demand forecasts

• Monitor material consumption and reduce wastages/Scrap %

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain production logs, downtime records, wastage reports, and KPI dashboards

• Support audits – ISO, internal audits, regulatory inspections

• Drive SOP development and establish standard work practices

Education

Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Polymer, Chemical Engineering or related fields

Experience

2 years and above in Cast Film Production / Plastic Extrusion industry

Technical Must-Haves

Cast film line operation, mechanical troubleshooting, quality parameters understanding

Software Skills

Production MIS, MS Excel, ERP (Odoo added advantage)

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
