Position Details

Position Title: Production Manager

Reports To: Operation Manager

Departments: Production

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring efficient use of resources, high product quality, and timely completion of projects. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising production activities while leading a team to meet production goals. Additionally, the Production Manager will conduct regular performance evaluations, manage team meetings, and implement disciplinary actions as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Production Planning and Coordination

Develop Production Schedules: Create daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet project deadlines and client requirements.

Resource Allocation: Optimise resource allocation, including labour, materials, and machinery, to achieve efficient production processes.

Monitor Workflow: Supervise the production workflow to ensure smooth and timely completion of production tasks.

2. Quality Control and Assurance

Enforce Quality Standards: Ensure all production processes adhere to established quality standards and industry regulations.

Inspect Final Products: Conduct regular quality checks on finished products to confirm they meet design specifications.

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in production quality and implement corrective actions as needed.

3. Team Management and Performance Analysis

Supervise Production Team: Oversee the daily activities of the production team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.

Conduct Performance Reviews: Evaluate individual and team performance, providing feedback and setting improvement goals.

Team Performance Analysis: Regularly analyse team performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for development.

Mentorship and Development: Provide mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.

4. Conduct Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Meetings

Daily Briefings: Conduct daily meetings with the production team to discuss daily tasks, progress, and address any immediate concerns.

Weekly and Monthly Meetings: Lead weekly and monthly meetings to review production targets, performance metrics, and upcoming project requirements.

Collaborative Planning: Facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on production goals.

5. Disciplinary Actions and Team Accountability

Issue Explanation Letters: Initiate explanation letters or other disciplinary actions in cases of policy violations, such as uninformed absences, habitual tardiness, or failure to meet performance standards.

Address Attendance and Punctuality: Monitor attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies, addressing issues as they arise.

Implement Corrective Actions: Provide coaching and set corrective actions for team members who do not meet performance or conduct expectations.

6. Production Efficiency and Cost Control

Optimise Production Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and minimise downtime.

Control Production Costs: Monitor production expenses and ensure they remain within budget by managing resources effectively.

Implement Lean Manufacturing Practices: Introduce lean practices to streamline operations, reducing waste and increasing productivity.

7. Health, Safety, and Compliance

Enforce Safety Standards: Ensure the production team adheres to all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Conduct Safety Training: Organise safety training sessions and ensure all team members understand and follow safety protocols.

Compliance Monitoring: Ensure production practices comply with legal and regulatory standards.

8. Reporting and Documentation

Prepare Production Reports: Maintain accurate production records, documenting daily, weekly, and monthly output, downtime, and quality control issues.

Performance Reports: Prepare and submit performance reports, highlighting production achievements, challenges, and improvement opportunities.

Inventory and Resource Documentation: Track inventory levels, usage, and restocking needs, coordinating with the procurement team as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
