The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring smooth operations, cost efficiency, product quality, and timely delivery. The role involves managing manpower, machinery, raw materials, and processes to achieve production targets while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Responsibilities 1. Production Planning & Control Plan, organize, and control daily/weekly/monthly production schedules. Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, machines, and manpower. Monitor production targets and ensure on-time delivery. 2. Process Management Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each product line (cups, containers, boxes, bags, etc.). Identify bottlenecks and take corrective actions to improve efficiency. Maintain lean manufacturing practices to reduce wastage. 3. Quality Assurance Ensure adherence to food-grade packaging quality standards. Conduct regular quality checks during and after production. Collaborate with the QA team to address product defects or customer complaints. 4. Team Management Supervise and train production staff, machine operators, and supervisors. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and foster a culture of accountability. Ensure workforce safety, discipline, and skill development. 5. Machinery & Maintenance Oversee operation of production machines (die-cutting, printing, lamination, pasting, forming, etc.). Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the engineering team. Suggest and implement technology upgrades for improved productivity. 6. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote sustainable practices in line with eco-friendly production goals. Maintain statutory records related to production, waste disposal, and safety. 7. Cost & Inventory Management Control production costs and minimize wastage of raw material (paper, inks, adhesives). Monitor inventory of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods. Collaborate with procurement for timely sourcing of inputs. Qualifications & skills Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, Print & packing or related field. 4 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing/production, preferably in paper packaging or FMCG packaging industry. Strong knowledge of paper conversion processes (printing, die-cutting, pasting, forming, etc.). Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in production management software/ERP. Strong focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability.Strong hands-on experience working with SQL coding, MS Power BI, MS Excel. Experience with Python/R (Beginner-Intermediate level) Ability to organize multiple stakeholders, users, team members to implement a productive project management office and archive project goals.
