Production Engineer

Engineer / Sr. Engineer, Production

The person in this role shall be responsible for ensuring efficient operations of manufacturing processes adhering to the quality standards. The person handling this position shall be able to handle the entire activities related to Production to ensure the smooth running of the shopfloor. This role requires close collaboration with Engineering and Quality Assurance to implement the projects aimed at improving productivity and fostering ongoing enhancements in production processes and product quality.

Production Planning and Execution

a. Prepare and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.

b. Ensure adherence to production schedules and deadlines.

c. Monitor and adjust resources to meet production targets.

Quality Management

a. Ensure production output meets quality standards.

b. Coordinate with the quality team for inspections, audits, and corrective actions.

c. Implement quality control procedures and root cause analysis for defects.

Manpower Management

a. Optimize manpower deployment and maintain high team productivity.

b. Ensure training, skill development, and performance evaluation of team members.

c. Enforce discipline, safety, and work culture in the production area.

Cost Control and Efficiency

a. Monitor and reduce production costs without compromising quality.

b. Improve process efficiency through lean manufacturing, KAIZEN, 5S, etc.

c. Reduce material wastage and downtime.

Machine and Equipment Management

a. Ensure proper maintenance and uptime of production machinery.

b. Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

c. Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and machine performance.

Inventory and Material Management

a. Coordinate with stores and purchase for timely availability of raw materials.

b. Minimize inventory holding costs and avoid stockouts.

c. Maintain accurate material consumption data.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

a. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and statutory regulations.

b. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.

c. Promote a safe working environment and zero accident policy.

Reporting and MIS

a. Maintain and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.

b. Analyze key production metrics (output, rejection, downtime, etc.).

c. Support management in strategic decision-making with data insights.

Customer satisfaction

a. Ensure timely delivery of customer orders with required specifications.

b. Collaborate with sales, planning, and dispatch for order fulfilment.

c. Handle customer complaints and implement corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

a. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.

b. Implement automation and digital tools where applicable.

c. Encourage innovation and improvement suggestions from the team.

Qualification and relevant experience

Diploma or Graduate Engineer in Production / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics

Experience :- 5 to 8 years
