About the role
The Product Manager is the internal subject matter expert on Magnit VMS's functionalities and capabilities. The Product Manager is the primary recipient of user recommendations for functionality enhancements and utilization clarification, as system upgrades and code releases take place. Product Manager will gather business and functional requirements for Magnit VMS, and work with all pertinent function owners within Magnit to prepare written functional descriptions for new functionality and enhancements and follow through as subject matter expert during development and validation phases. The Product Manager will be the point person for functional questions related to Magnit VMS, including questions from Clients, Sales, Client Services teams Employee Development Team, and Development resources. The Product Manager will work closely with Development to prioritize system enhancements and new functionalities, applying knowledge of business and internal end user needs. This position will be responsible for soliciting internal and external end users’ satisfaction and contributing to Magnit VMS Road Map creation and updates.

What You Will Do
  • Act as primary subject matter expert for internal and external Magnit VMS users.
  • Work closely with the business, Development and other internal users to establish release item priorities.
  • Work with integration and development to define problems, resulting in specific and detailed business requirements and functional descriptions.
  • Solicit end user feedback on a scheduled basis and share with Product Management, Client Services and Sales leadership as well as Magnit Senior Management
  • Review Specifications to ensure business aspects are addressed and to minimize opportunities for mis-interpretation during the development cycle
  • Drive and Participate in User Acceptance Testing
  • On a scheduled basis lead an internal call with Magnit users to update users with new system functionalities and solicit user feedback in a collaborative manner
  • Demonstrate the system, as needed, to internal or external users or prospects
  • Communicate product strategy and functionality to staff, senior management and externals.
  • Contribute to the creation of product marketing documentation and collateral.
  • Support system analyst to set goals and expectations for key client requests during the development life cycle.
  • Provide expertise during functional design brainstorming sessions.
  • As needed, lead user group sessions to ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities and client requests.
  • Provide support to sales and service teams on application functionality.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in high-level Senior Management meetings to support the decision-making process and develop communications from these meetings out to the field organization.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • Agile experience
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience with product discovery, user research, and data-informed decision making.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—able to articulate vision, value, and technical trade-offs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills essential
  • Must possess high energy, collaboration, confidence, creativity, and ability to influence at multiple levels.
  • Must be able to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and select methods to obtain solutions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills essential.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to write effective stories and requirements for an engineering audience and business stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and field representatives.
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting or abstract data.
  • This person collaborates with representatives from Product Management, QA, and Development, as well as other departments within the company, to accomplish the goals set forth.
  • Understand business drivers, future customer needs and competitive challenges.
  • Aware of emerging technology to address the above needs and challenges.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
