Brief Job Overview

This role is responsible for core product management functions, including coordinating key new product development activities across internal and external teams, as well as overseeing operational activities related to the released portfolio—such as lot reviews, product name change, supplier selection, and product retesting.

Additionally, USP’s People and Culture division, in partnership with the Equity Office, invests in leadership and workforce development to equip all employees with the skills to create high-performing, inclusive teams. This includes training in equitable management practices and tools to promote engaged, collaborative, and results-driven work environments.

The Product Management Specialist has the following responsibilities:

New Product Development Initiatives.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with operational teams (internal as well as external) to drive timely execution of new product development initiatives such as product naming, DEA check, product database management.
  • Organize and lead team meetings to address key issues related to day-to-day operations.

Released Portfolio Operational Management

  • Review lifecycle activities for released products, including replenishment lot reviews.
  • Facilitate supplier evaluation and selection procedures for replenishment lots; monitor back-order status for the designated portfolio and make sure product stock is kept at an optimal level
  • oversee product retesting process flows, including coordination with vendors and internal technical and QA teams

Meeting Coordination and Reporting

  • Generate and update project progress reports in project tracking platforms
  • Collaborate with the product management team to increase the effectiveness and transparency of reporting.

Who is USP Looking For?

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:

  • 3 – 4 years of experience in project management ideally with pharmaceutical companies
  • Experience in handling software like Excel, Tableau, AchieveIt
  • Knowledge of standards used for pharmaceutical product testing such as analytical reference material, certified reference material, and reference standards.
  • Experience with handling large amounts of data and information using scientific databases.
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills.
  • Able to work flexible hours when needed in collaboration with global teams.
  • Workload management skills; able to juggle a diverse and rapidly changing workload, delivering across several teams within a matrixed structure.
