Product Development Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to lead end-to-end development of food and nutraceutical products for our D2C business. The role requires strong expertise in FSSAI regulations, food labelling compliance, and legal metrology, along with hands-on experience in product formulation, packaging, and go-to-market execution.

KSKT AgroMart (Kisaan Se Kitchen Tak) is a technology and supply chain venture focused on providing naturally grown and processed agro-produce directly from farms. Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Compliance

- Lead end-to-end product development from concept, formulation, trials, and scale-up to launch.

- Ensure full compliance with FSSAI Labelling and Display Regulations, 2020 across all products.

- Oversee labelling requirements for pre-packaged foods, nutraceuticals, food additives, and non-retail containers.

- Validate nutritional information, allergen declarations, ingredient lists, and statutory warnings as per current regulations.

- Ensure correct use and placement of mandatory logos (veg/non-veg, FSSAI license number, nutritional icons, etc.).

Regulatory & Legal Adherence

- Interpret and implement FSSAI (Advertising & Claims) Regulations, 2018, ensuring all product claims are compliant.

- Track and implement old vs new FSSAI regulations, ensuring timely updates on labels and packaging.

- Ensure compliance with Legal Metrology (Weights & Measures) Act for net quantity, declarations, and pack sizes.

- Coordinate Trademark Act compliance for product names, brand elements, and packaging claims.

Packaging & Label Management

- Work closely with design and marketing teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and consumer-friendly labels.

- Review and approve all label artworks before printing and production.

- Ensure display of mandatory information in food service establishments, where applicable.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Collaborate with QA, sourcing, manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth launches.

- Act as the single point of accountability for regulatory readiness during audits, inspections, or launches.

Key Requirements

Education & Experience

- B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology / Food Science / Nutrition or related discipline.

- 4–8 years of experience in product development or regulatory-led food roles, preferably in D2C / FMCG / Nutraceutical brands.

Technical & Regulatory Expertise

Strong working knowledge of:

- FSSAI Labelling & Display Regulations, 2020

- Advertising & Claims Regulations, 2018

- Labelling for pre-packaged foods, nutraceuticals, additives, and non-retail packs

- Allergen declaration and nutritional labelling

- Legal Metrology (Weights & Measurements) Act

- Trademark Act basics and implementation

- Ability to interpret regulatory changes and translate them into actionable product and packaging updates.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong attention to detail and regulatory accuracy.

- Ability to work in fast-paced D2C environments with multiple SKUs.

- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.

- Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership.

Reporting To- Chief Business Officer (CBO)

The Product Development Manager will report directly to the Chief Business Officer and will work closely with the team to align product strategy, compliance, and business objectives.
