This role is for one of Weekday's clients Min Experience: 10 years Location: West Bengal JobType: full-time Requirements About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Procurement & Purchase Manager to lead our procurement function and ensure seamless sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management processes across the organization. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle — from vendor selection to contract negotiation and purchase execution — while ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets. With over a decade of experience under your belt, you'll bring a deep understanding of sourcing best practices, cost control mechanisms, and compliance standards. You will be instrumental in optimizing supply chain operations, building long-term vendor relationships, and driving strategic procurement initiatives to support our growth and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Lead the development and execution of procurement strategies for direct and indirect materials, services, and capital expenditures. Ensure best-value sourcing in terms of cost, quality, and reliability. Vendor Management Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers. Maintain strong supplier relationships, conduct regular performance evaluations, and develop contingency sourcing plans. Negotiation & Contracting Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers. Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring risk mitigation and legal compliance. Purchase Planning & Execution Forecast purchasing needs in collaboration with internal teams. Manage purchase orders, requisitions, inventory levels, and delivery timelines. Cost Control & Budgeting Monitor procurement expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or timelines. Implement controls and reports to track savings and procurement KPIs. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure adherence to organizational procurement policies, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards. Mitigate risks through thorough due diligence and documentation. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a procurement team (if applicable), fostering a culture of ownership, performance, and continuous improvement. What We're Looking For Experience: Minimum of 10 years in procurement and purchasing, preferably in manufacturing, infrastructure, IT services, or a large-scale B2B environment. Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or certification (e.g., CSCP, CPM, CPP, or CIPS) is a strong plus. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, inventory planning, and global sourcing Excellent negotiation and contract management skills Proficiency in ERP tools (SAP, Oracle, Zoho, etc.) Ability to analyze procurement data and generate actionable insights Strong leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, operations, legal, and project teams Show more Show less
