Job Description

Procurement Manager


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage a reliable supplier base for raw materials, equipment, and services.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal value.

Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery timelines, and compliance with terms.
  • Resolve supplier disputes and address any performance issues.

Cost Management & Budgeting:

  • Monitor and control procurement budgets.
  • Analyze market trends and commodity pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, volume leverage, or process improvements.

Process Optimization:

  • Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Continuously improve procurement workflows and systems for efficiency and transparency.

Inventory & Logistics Coordination:

  • Work closely with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels without overstocking or understocking.
  • Coordinate with finance and operations to align procurement with demand forecasts.


Requirements:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPM, CSCP) is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Proven experience in vendor negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.


Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with occasional visits to suppliers or production facilities.
  • May involve domestic or international travel, depending on supplier locations.
