Procurement Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Procurement Manager to oversee the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management of walnuts and almonds across cultivation regions in Kashmir. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a keen understanding of local markets, and the ability to develop knowledge of grading systems. This is a field-intensive role requiring frequent travel to growing regions and direct engagement with farmers, suppliers, and traders.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and build relationships with walnut and almond growers, suppliers, and traders across Kashmir.

• Oversee procurement planning, pricing, and sourcing to ensure consistent and high-quality supply.

• Develop a thorough understanding of walnut and almond grading standards and implement them in procurement decisions.

• Conduct regular farm and market visits to monitor availability, pricing, and quality.

• Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers while maintaining ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.

• Maintain accurate records of procurement contracts, costs, and supply chain activities.

• Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure procured stock meets company standards.

• Provide timely updates to management and support reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Prior experience in procurement, agri-commodities, or supply chain management preferred (experience in walnuts/almonds a plus).

• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build trust with local stakeholders.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across cultivation areas in Kashmir.

• Fluency in local language(s) (Kashmiri, Urdu, Hindi essential; English proficiency preferred).

• Ability to quickly learn and apply walnut and almond grading systems.

• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

• Must be able to report to work immediately.
