The Pricing / Inventory Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all inventory-related financial data, including valuation, adjustments, and reconciliations. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, analyzing inventory and cost variances, and ensuring accurate accounting for warehouse and logistics activities. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across accounting, procurement, and operations teams.
· Perform monthly inventory reconciliations between sub-ledger systems and the general ledger to ensure accuracy of reported balances.
· Review and analyze inventory roll forward, overhead, and reserve accounts, identifying variances and preparing appropriate adjusting entries.
· Investigate and resolve negative inventory and inventory adjustment discrepancies in coordination with operations and warehouse teams.
· Conduct transfer order reconciliations to verify proper inventory movement across locations.
· Review and validate $0 item receipts, ensuring accurate cost application and completeness of received inventory.
· Manage purchase order (PO) pricing uploads into the ERP system, ensuring consistency with approved vendor pricing and terms.
· Perform daily reviews of order confirmation (OC) pricing, identifying and resolving discrepancies against current price lists.
· Partner with procurement and finance teams to maintain accurate cost data and enforce consistent pricing controls.
· Review and post warehouse and logistics provider bills, ensuring accuracy, proper account coding, and compliance with contractual terms.
· Maintain and update warehouse billing trackers to support month-end accruals, reconciliations, and payment approvals.
· Reconcile and track monthly charges from 3PL partners, ensuring completeness and accuracy of expense recognition.
· Support month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses related to inventory, COGS, and logistics expenses.
· Assist with quarterly and annual audits by providing supporting schedules, documentation, and explanations of key account movements.
· Maintain and update inventory and logistics trackers to ensure timely and transparent financial reporting.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles, including valuation, reserves, adjustments, and COGS.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups).
· High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to work cross-functionally with finance, procurement, and operations teams.
· Experience with 3PL accounting and warehouse billing reconciliation.
· Familiarity with inventory flow, landed cost, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis.
· Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements in accounting workflows.
· Experience with NetSuite is preferred.
