Technical Skills
About You:
- 3 –5 years of hands-on experience with Power BI development.
- Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query, M Query.
- Solid understanding of database concepts, data warehousing, and SQL.
- Experience with star/snowflake schema modeling.
- Proficiency in various Power BI visuals including custom visuals and maps.
- Understanding of Power BI Service (Workspaces, Apps, Dataflows, Gateways).
- Knowledge of Power BI performance optimization techniques.
Additional Skills
- Experience migrating reports from other BI tools.
- Exposure to Azure Data Services, Microsoft Fabric, or similar cloud BI environments.
- Familiarity with REST APIs for data integration.
- Ability to troubleshoot refresh issues and performance bottlenecks.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Good To Have
- Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300 or above).
- Experience with Azure Data Services or Microsoft Fabric.
- Familiarity with APIs and advanced Power BI features like AI visuals.
What You ‘ll Do
- Report & Dashboard Development
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated reports.
- Build intuitive visualizations using charts, maps, KPIs, slicers, and other advanced visuals.
- Implement drill-through, bookmarks, and storytelling features.
Data Modeling & Transformation
- Create robust and optimized data models using Star/Snowflake schemas.
- Use Power Query and M Query for data extraction, transformation, and cleansing.
- Implement calculated columns, measures, and hierarchies using DAX.
Data Connectivity
- Connect to multiple on-premises and cloud data sources (SQL Server, Azure SQL, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, etc.).
- Use DirectQuery, Import Mode, and Live Connection efficiently.
- Work with gateway configurations for secure access to on-premises data.
Migration & Integration
- Migrate reports from other BI platforms (Tableau, Qlik, Excel) to Power BI.
- Ensure seamless integration with Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, Excel).
Optimization & Best Practices
- Apply performance tuning techniques for models and reports.
- Optimize data refresh schedules and gateway usage.
- Follow security best practices, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
Latest Features & Updates
- Stay up to date with new Power BI features (e.g., Fabric integration, AI visuals, Field Parameters, Composite Models).
- Evaluate and recommend adoption of new Power BI capabilities.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
- Document datasets, dataflows, measures, and report structures for future reference.
