The Payroll Specialist – India Inhouse Payroll process and compliance reporting is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll management for employees based in India. This role offers extensive technical knowledge in managing the full payroll cycle, resolving complex operational challenges, enhancing process controls, and collaborating closely with Business HR, Finance, and internal HR Solutions teams. The Specialist is instrumental in driving operational excellence, improving customer experience, and facilitating process and system enhancements across both locations.
What You Will Do
- Execute and support the end-to-end payroll lifecycle for India Inhouse payroll, including validations, inputs, reconciliations, statutory compliance, approvals, and disbursements.
- Ensure payroll processing adheres to India regulations, internal controls, compliance & audit requirements, and company standards.
- Act as a operational escalation points for complex payroll issues, exceptions, and employee queries.
- Partner closely with HR Operations, Business HR, Finance, and Compliance teams to resolve payroll queries and ensure timely closure of cases.
- Support customer engagements and contribute to meeting SLAs and quality metrics consistently.
- Added Advantage with expertise in implementing in-house payroll solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities in collaboration with the supervisor and internal teams.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation, including DTPs, process notes, and compliance checklists.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and training within the team to enhance technical capability.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of strong payroll experience, including deep hands-on experience with SG and/or PH payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of India payroll regulations, statutory requirements, and payroll processes.
- Added Advantage with expertise in implementing in-house payroll solutions.
- Experience communicating with all levels of an organization
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in shared services or multi-country payroll environments.
- Strong understanding of India labor laws, statutory contributions, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with payroll platforms (e.g., Inhouse Payroll application Greyt, Rozorpay , Keka Allsec or equivalent).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, particularly with HR and Finance partners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tight deadlines, high-volume cycles, and complex payroll scenarios.
- Experience in process optimization, controls strengthening, and audit readiness.
- Strong analytical skills, particularly with payroll data and reconciliations.
