Job Description

Role and responsibilities of Senior Manager of Engineering Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of design engineers focused on aerospace and defense systems. Oversee the design, development, and optimization of mechanical, electrical, and software systems for aerospace and defence applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and program management to ensure seamless project execution. Establish and manage engineering design standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through to production, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and cost targets. Drive the innovation of new design technologies, processes, and materials to enhance product performance and reliability. Ensure the team adheres to project timelines, budgets, and milestones while maintaining a high standard of technical excellence. Provide technical leadership and support in problem-solving and troubleshooting complex design challenges. Develop and manage design validation and verification plans to ensure compliance with aerospace and defence standards. Lead risk management activities, ensuring that potential design and development risks are identified and mitigated early in the process. Work closely with senior leadership to set strategic goals for design engineering and align the team’s objectives with company priorities. Interface with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure that design specifications and requirements are accurately defined and met. Strong knowledge of aerospace systems, structures, materials, and manufacturing processes. Proven experience in managing complex design projects, from concept to production. Expertise in CAD tools (e.g, Solid Works, Auto cad,) and other design and simulation software. Experience with design standards and regulatory requirements for aerospace and defense (e.g., FAA, DoD, MIL-STD, AS9100). Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative and practical solutions. Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing and composites, is a plus. 5S and kaizen should posses great skill required.
