Role and responsibilities of Senior Manager of Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of design engineers focused on aerospace and defense systems.
• Oversee the design, development, and optimization of mechanical, electrical, and software systems for aerospace and defence applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and program management to ensure seamless project execution.
• Establish and manage engineering design standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through to production, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and cost targets.
• Drive the innovation of new design technologies, processes, and materials to enhance product performance and reliability.
• Ensure the team adheres to project timelines, budgets, and milestones while maintaining a high standard of technical excellence.
• Provide technical leadership and support in problem-solving and troubleshooting complex design challenges.
• Develop and manage design validation and verification plans to ensure compliance with aerospace and defence standards.
• Lead risk management activities, ensuring that potential design and development risks are identified and mitigated early in the process.
• Work closely with senior leadership to set strategic goals for design engineering and align the team’s objectives with company priorities.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure that design specifications and requirements are accurately defined and met.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace systems, structures, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proven experience in managing complex design projects, from concept to production.
• Expertise in CAD tools (e.g, Solid Works, Auto cad,) and other design and simulation software.
• Experience with design standards and regulatory requirements for aerospace and defense (e.g., FAA, DoD, MIL-STD, AS9100).
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative and practical solutions.
• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing and composites, is a plus.
• 5S and kaizen should posses great skill required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹21,296.66 - ₹70,000.00 per month
