Position Title: National Sales Manager (NSM)

Department: Sales & Business Development
Reporting To: Managing Director
Location: Morbi, Gujarat (with extensive Pan-India travel)

Salary: No bar for the right candidate.

Position Overview:

The National Sales Manager (NSM) is responsible for leading and managing nationwide sales operations, business development initiatives, and the entire sales team structure including field sales, marketing, back-office, tender, and corporate tie- up executives.

The role involves strategic planning, team leadership, OEM and institutional sales, dealer network expansion, government business coordination, and ensuring consistent achievement of revenue, growth, and collection targets.

Candidates with experience in Orthopaedic implants, Manufacturing industries, Pharma, Rehabilitation, or Medical Devices. with strong market knowledge and team-handling experience will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership & Team Management:

v Lead, train, and manage a Pan-India sales team including Regional Sales Executives, Back Office Marketing staff, Tender Executive, and Corporate Tie-Up Executive.

v Build a cohesive and performance-driven sales organization.

v Set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales and collection targets for all regions.

v Conduct periodic reviews, team meetings, and performance evaluations.

  • Corporate, Institutional & OEM Business Development:

v Identify and acquire key corporate and OEM accounts for long-term partnerships.

v Drive institutional sales through relationship building and strategic collaborations.

v Support the Corporate Tie-Up Executive in managing large accounts and negotiations.

  • Dealer Network & Channel Management:

v Develop, strengthen, and expand the dealer/distributor network across regions.

v Plan dealer engagement programs, pricing strategies, and sales campaigns.

v Ensure consistent communication and training between the sales and back-office teams.

  • Government & Tender Business:

v Supervise the Tender Executive for participation in government tenders, empanelment’s, and institutional contracts.

v Review and approve tender documents, pricing, and compliance submissions.

v Coordinate with the management and operations teams for timely execution of government projects.

  • Marketing & Back Office Coordination:

v Oversee the marketing and back-office team to ensure alignment with sales objectives.

v Plan and execute product promotions, marketing campaigns, trade exhibitions, and digital initiatives.

v Ensure timely preparation of MIS, reports, and customer communication.

  • Collection & Receivables Management:

v Monitor collections across all regions and ensure compliance with company credit policies.

v Coordinate with finance to maintain a healthy working capital cycle and control outstanding receivables.

  • Market Development & Business Strategy:

v Identify emerging markets, trends, and new product opportunities.

v Contribute to strategic planning and provide market intelligence to senior management.

v Ensure data-driven decision-making using CRM and sales analytics.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achievement of national sales and collection targets.
  • Growth in OEM, corporate, and institutional client base.
  • Dealer and distributor network expansion.
  • Team productivity and retention (Sales, Tender, Corporate, Back Office, and Marketing).
  • Successful participation and conversion in government tenders.
  • Increased brand visibility and market share.
  • Timely reporting, forecasting, and accuracy in sales data.

Job Specification (JS)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Science, or Engineering.
  • MBA or Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing or Sales preferred.

Experience:

  • 12–15 years of experience in Sales, OEM, Institutional, or Business Development roles.
  • Proven experience in dealer management, corporate B2B sales, and government business handling.
  • Exposure to team leadership, tender management, and marketing coordination.
  • Preferred background: Orthopaedic implants, Manufacturing industries, Pharma, Rehabilitation, or Medical Devices.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-handling skills.
  • Knowledge of OEM business processes, institutional and government sales.
  • Strategic planning and execution ability with result orientation.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in MS Office, CRM, and reporting tools.
  • Financial acumen for pricing, profitability, and collection control.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with company strategy.
