Join Lam as a Mechanical Hardware Designer and create innovative designs that improve costs, reliability, and advancements in next-generation products. You'll apply digital design, CAD software, and interpret engineering drawings to implement designs that solve material and manufacturing process challenges. Your expertise contributes to the reliability and innovation, showcasing Lam's commitment to cutting-edge technology.In this role, you will directly contribute to creation and support of engineering drawings, bill of materials and manufacturing documentation using Engineering Change Management
What You’ll Do
- Implement design /design changes for medium to complex parts & Provide Solutions to documentation quality issues like Problem Reports / Supplier Build issues.
- Create/Update CAD models/drawings for sheet metal, machined parts, complex assemblies, gas line weldments.
- Select OEM parts based on design requirements and best-known methods.
- Document and release engineering drawings, and bills of materials (BOM) using Engineering Change Management to support manufacturing.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/ production/ industrial engineering with 2-4 years of professional experience in design engineering; or equivalent experience.
- 1+ Years of experience in creating simple to medium complex sub system models/assemblies using -Unigraphics-NX
- Expert in creating and releasing drawing package for sheet metal, machined components, tube assemblies using Unigraphics-NX & Experience in CAD data migration to NX.
- Solid knowledge on welding symbols, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, surface finish, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) drafting standards.
- Knowledge on selection of OEM Components
- Knowledge on design for manufacturability of mechanical components
- Experience with metal machining and sheet metal fabrication and casting processes.
- Good understanding of different materials and Finish processes applicable for mechanical components.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in various fabrication methods (Sheet metal & Machining) & knowledge on Cable manufacturing /Assembly
- Knowledge on Electrical components (Part Spec & Termination method, Cable types, Part compatibility)
- Experience working with Team Center & Knowledge in Engineering Change Management, SAP, PLM
- Knowledge and exposure to ANSI, ASME, AWS, ISO, SEMI standards applicable to semiconductor industry.
- Knowledge on MS office software’s like MS Excel, MS Word & MS PowerPoint
- Experience in global cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
