RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will play a key part in expanding Messe Berlin’s global event portfolio within the Indian market. As a Market Development Manager, you will drive outbound (representative) sales, develop new business opportunities, and strengthen relationships with exhibitors, partners, and key industry stakeholders. You will also support the planning and coordination of projects led by Messe Berlin India to ensure their successful execution and delivery.

  • Lead outbound sales activities to promote and sell Messe Berlin’s global trade show portfolio to the Indian market.
  • Develop and grow the India-based client and exhibitor base across assigned events and industry sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, key accounts, and potential partners to drive sustained participation in Messe Berlin events.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, industry networking, and lead generation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and international project offices to ensure smooth communication, operational alignment, and timely delivery of sales commitments.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and management of assigned projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Support marketing initiatives, including campaign coordination and database development to enhance outreach and conversion.
  • Prepare sales materials, proposals, contracts, and post-event reports as required.
  • Track project progress, manage follow-ups, and provide timely updates on sales and pipeline performance.
  • Organize client engagement activities and recruitment efforts in key cities across India.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and reporting procedures.
  • Contribute to post-project evaluations and propose strategies for continuous improvement.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Project Management, Events Management, Business Management etc.
  • At least 3 years of experience in events and exhibitions or project management role
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of handling multiple projects under tight deadlines.
