Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Development & Optimization

• Develop, implement, and enhance manufacturing.
• Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing to maximize efficiency and throughput.
• Define process parameters, tolerances, and control limits specific to mechanical-electrical integration.

2. New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Support industrialization of new relay products, ensuring manufacturability of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with design engineering to optimize mechanical designs
• Validate tooling, fixtures, and assembly processes during pilot runs.

3. Cost and Quality Improvements

• Identify cost reduction opportunities through material optimization, process automation, and waste elimination.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for relay-specific defects (e.g., contact misalignment, housing fitment).
• Ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards requires product reliability and life-cycle performance.

4. Tooling & Equipment

• Design and develop jigs, fixtures, and special-purpose machines (SPMs)..
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for manufacturing equipment (e.g., stamping presses, coil winding machines).

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and maintain process documentation such as Work Instructions, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Assembly SOPs specific to relay manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC standards and safety guidelines relevant to electromechanical product manufacturing.

6. Continuous Improvement (CI)

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives in relay production lines.
• Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices to improve machine uptime and reduce breakdowns.
• Support digitalization initiatives (MES/traceability systems) for process monitoring.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) with exposure to electromechanical product manufacturing.

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering for electromechanical products.
• Hands-on experience with precision assembly, stamping, coil winding, and mechanical-electrical integration.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) for fixture and tooling design.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes: stamping, welding, crimping, plastic molding, and coil winding.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Strong understanding of GD&T and interpretation of complex electromechanical drawings.

Soft Skills:

• An analytical and problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with design, quality, and production teams.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with tight deadlines.

• Reduction in assembly cycle time and cost per unit.
• Improvement in first pass yield and reduction of assembly defects (contact alignment, housing fit issues).
• On-time industrialization of new product lines.
