Manager - Textile Wet process Finishing

Technical & Process Competencies

1) Comprehensive knowledge of finishing processes: stentering, sanforising, peaching, Airo finish, calendaring, and brushing

2) Expertise in machine operation parameters: overfeed %, fabric width control, moisture %, stenter temperature curves, cylinder pressures, and sanforising shrinkage control

3) In-depth knowledge of finishing chemicals, softeners, resins, and auxiliaries

4) Ability to plan and control hand-feel, GSM, dimensional stability, shrinkage, and surface finishes

5) Proficiency in fabric defect prevention: skewing, bowing, GSM variation, shade migration, roller marks, and finish unevenness

6) Competence in handling new fabric developments and customer-specific finishing requirements

7) Practical troubleshooting skills in machine breakdowns, setting deviations, and process abnormalities

Production & Shift Management Competencies

1)Overall responsibility for planning, execution, and monitoring of finishing production schedules

2)Ensuring high machine utilization efficiency across Harish Stenter, Yamuna Stenters, Sanforising, Peaching, Airo Finish, Calendaring, and Brushing

3)Driving RFT (Right First Time) finishing to avoid reworks and wastage

4)Coordinating with PPC and Dyeing/Printing departments for smooth fabric flow

5)Ensuring timely delivery of finished goods to Inspection/Dispatch sections

6)Monitoring shift outputs, machine-wise efficiency, and fabric rejection rates

7)Leading root cause analysis for deviations and implementing corrective actions

Quality & Compliance Competencies

1)Strict adherence to IMS quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)

2)Ensuring compliance with sustainable certifications (GOTS, GRS, OCS, OEKOTEX, FAIRTRADE, BCI)

3)Monitoring and ensuring dimensional stability, fastness, shade consistency, and hand feel as per customer standards

4)Coordinating with QA and Lab for finish approvals and new trials

5)Leading internal audits and external customer audits in finishing

6)Implementing zero-defect finishing practices

SAP & Reporting Competencies

1)Full utilization of SAP PP module for production planning, process order execution, and reporting

2)Monitoring WIP (Work in Progress) and ensuring accurate data entry

3)Preparing machine performance reports, finishing quality reports, and rejection analysis

4)Maintaining traceability records for certification audits (GOTS, GRS, OCS, etc)

5)Ensuring real-time production and quality data availability to management

1)Leading a team of Shift In-Charges, Supervisors, Operators, and Helpers in the finishing department

1)Enforcing strict compliance with PPE usage in finishing areas (gloves, safety shoes, earplugs, masks)

2)Knowledge of fire safety, machine guarding, lockout–tagout (LOTO), and emergency handling

3)Coordinating with maintenance and safety team for risk assessments and incident investigations

4)Monitoring and minimizing steam, water, and energy consumption in finishing

5)Driving sustainability initiatives: heat recovery, energy-efficient settings, reduced chemical usage

6)Ensuring safe handling of oils, lubricants, and finishing chemicals

Desired Education & Experience

1 )B.Tech / B.Sc. in Textile Processing / Textile Chemistry

2 )10–15 years in finishing operations with minimum 3–5 years in managerial capacity

3 )Knowledge of IMS, 5S, SAP PP/MM, lean manufacturing, and sustainability systems

4)Tamil (essential), English (for documentation, audits, customer communication), Hindi (for workforce coordination
