Today Akanksha runs 26 schools in partnership with governments of Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Navi Mumbai and Nagpur serving ~13,000 children in grades Jr Kg - Gr 10.

Position Summary

The Technology Manager ensures effective, secure, and user-friendly technology across the

organization. Responsibilities span IT systems, digital infrastructure, staff support, vendor

management, and technology-driven innovation to enhance mission delivery.

management, and technology-driven innovation to enhance mission delivery.


Key Responsibilities

1. Software Development and Implementation

 Lead or oversee full software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering,

design, development, testing, to deployment and maintenance.

 Collaborate with external developers, vendors, or internal contributors to deliver

mission-aligned digital tools and platforms.

2. Software Selection & Procurement

 Conduct research and evaluate software tools or applications that best meet non profit

requirements, needs in usability, cost, and impact.

 Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring software solutions deliver quality

and value.

3. Project and Development Management

 Oversee planning, milestone tracking, and delivery of software initiatives, ensuring

alignment with strategic objectives and staying on schedule and budget.

 Provide technical guidance, ensure code quality, and maintain documentation for all

software processes and systems.

4. Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration

 Work with internal stakeholders (programs, fundraising, communications) to clarify

software requirements; translate them into effective solutions.

 Coordinate with external consultants and vendors to implement enhancements and

integrations.

5. Documentation & Training

 Develop and maintain SOPs, user guides, and training materials for all software tools

and developments.

 Lead staff training to ensure high adoption and effective use of technology solutions.

6. Strategy, Innovation & Quality Assurance

 Stay current on emerging technologies; recommend improvements to workflows and

platforms.

 Facilitate code reviews, testing, and QA to ensure reliability, usability, and

accessibility.

7. User Support & Training

 Serve as the main technical resource for staff—support troubleshooting and deploy

solutions efficiently.

 Develop and deliver user training and documentation to promote adoption of tools and

applications in use.

8. Data Management & Analytics

 Maintain data integrity and hygiene; perform audits and enforce data security best

practices.

 Facilitate analytics and reporting to inform decision-making across fundraising,

programs, and communications.

9. Policy, Security & Compliance

 Establish and uphold IT/security policies, ensuring compliance and managing

contingency plans.

 Good to have, Promote cybersecurity practices and staff awareness.

10. Innovation & Strategy

 Stay informed of technology trends and recommend scalable efficiency

improvements.

 Support long-term tech planning and align IT investments with organizational goals.


Qualifications

Experience & Education:

 Bachelor’s degree

 7+ years in technology operations, software development and roll out

Technical Skills:

 Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, AWS), Python , dashboarding

tools or solutions.

 Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, and network infrastructure.


Soft Skills:

 Strong communication ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.

 Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

 Collaborative mindset with capability to work across teams and lead change

 Willingness to adapt and learn newer technologies and solutions
