Job Description

About the Role: The role of Manager – Business Development involves driving revenue growth across Open Programs, Custom Programs, Online Certificates, and PGDM Online by managing outreach, lead generation, and client engagement. Responsible for identifying and building long-term relationships with key decision-makers across corporates, PSUs, and government bodies to convert business opportunities into high-impact learning engagements. Collaborate closely with faculty and academic teams to design and deliver customized programs that meet client needs, ensuring quality execution and client satisfaction throughout the lifecycle. Track key performance metrics, ensure smooth coordination with internal teams for operations, finance, and marketing, and contribute to innovation and cross-functional collaboration for institutional success. Play a consultative sales role by tailoring proposals, ensuring timely follow-ups, managing servicing, and working toward client retention and repeat business. Key Responsibilities: Drive revenue for Open Program/MDPs/Customized Learning Solutions through outreach, proposals, and closures Identify, meet and engage decision-makers in corporates, PSUs, and government institutions for getting them on board Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects & proposals Actively engage with clients via calls, meetings, and networking initiatives Prepare a strong database to drive weekly meetings and a strong funnel Ability to drive consultative sales approach and work on customized proposals for each of the client Ensure timely follow-ups for conversions Coordinate with program team and faculty for delivery and feedback Manage client servicing, including invoicing and reporting Ensure repeat business through relationship building and customer satisfaction Track performance metrics: leads, proposals, closures, and revenue Collaborate with the marketing team for branding, collaterals development, and social media management Work collaboratively with other departments to generate leads and establish connects and support other departments as and when required. Coordinate with the finance team to ensure collection of dues from the client and pay out to the faculty Focus on innovation, enhancing the current services and ways of working Eligibility: Around 7-10 years of overall experience with significant part of it in sales / business development Well, networked in the CLOs, CHROs and Corporate community; Experience in working with senior professionals in HR, functional leaders, CXOs, having rich track record of business negotiations and closing the deal Excellent quantitative, analytical skills, good at research & identifying patterns; Good at working with Microsoft excel, power point presentation, Tableau Proven experience in CRM and funnel management, with the ability to track, analyze, and optimize client journeys Strong track record in client relationship management, with the ability to build long-term partnerships Demonstrated expertise in proposal writing and pitching, including crafting tailored solutions and delivering persuasive presentations Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to clarity, tone, and audience engagement In-depth subject matter and market knowledge relevant to the industry, enabling strategic conversations and insights Strong capability in liaising and influencing, with the confidence to align diverse teams and drive consensus across stakeholders Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Revenue achievement against annual targets Operational efficiency and on-time delivery rate of programs New program launches / new clients onboarded Implemented innovative ideas and product launches Location: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar To Apply – share your profile at – mdp@imi.edu Show more Show less
