About Global Pricing:
A team working across the business units and with multi-functions to integrate a streamlined end-to-end pricing framework to optimize margin performance and drive value for J&J MedTech:
Global Pricing Strategy - utilizing a harmonized best-in-class approach to pricing strategy development in alignment with Global Marketing
Global Pricing Excellence – managing global pricing corridors and planning & forecasting to identify pricing opportunities through pricing frameworks, analytics and data driven insights to accelerate the value capture in the regions.
Global Pricing Data & Analytics – providing differentiated & intelligent analytics through a globally scaled data ecosystem
Role Purpose:
The Manager, Global Pricing Strategy will focus on accelerating innovation, driving business unit portfolio strategy initiatives, delivering the price plan in line with financial commitments. The individual will interface with business unit marketing teams and actively engage in driving strategic decisions with regards to portfolio pricing, work on enhancing existing and introducing new global capabilities, strategies and processes aimed at creating significant commercial value and competitive advantage for JJMT.
Key areas of responsibility:
Partner with Global Strategic Marketing on brand ladder and product lifecycle pricing frameworks across the business unit focusing on portfolio strategy, leveraging of value products, and margin optimization to support topline growth.
Champion a value based NPI pricing methodology across in alignment to the R&D, Launch Excellence and Business Development processes.
Systematic process to effectively organize and manage product launch positioning.
Own and provide competitive insights for price change, ASP competitiveness and ASP benchmarking in alignment with the JJMT competitive pricing framework.
Collaborate on global price corridors with Global Pricing Excellence to focus on transparent global standards, terminology and characteristics integrated with regional/local commercial strategy and enabled by a fully automated technology platform.
In addition to demonstrating high level of proficiency in the business and customer landscape, and strong cross-functional partnership and influencing skills, the ideal candidate will possess a balance of quantitative/qualitative problem-solving skills, a sharp strategic mind grounded in insights within J&J as well as the MedTech industry and more broadly, excellent written and oral communications and strong focus on driving financial impact.
Experience and Skills – Required:
Minimum of 5-8 years of business experience
Ability to collaborate and cultivate trust and partnership across functions, levels, and geographies
Ability to influence without authority – including influencing senior leaders – and to negotiate and drive decision-making
Strong business acumen and understanding of financial and economic metrics including price elasticity of demand
Balance of quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills with an emphasis on data-driven and customer-focused decision-making
Strong business acumen and understanding of financial and economic metrics including price, volume and gross profit
Comfort with ambiguity and making decisions amidst uncertainty and incomplete data
Strong prioritization, project and time management, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
Experience and Skills – Preferred:
3-5 years of experience in Pricing, Marketing, Contracting, Finance, Strategic Planning or Health Economics
Experience in the medical device industry and product/market knowledge of J&J MedTech and competitor medical devices
Experience working across multiple geographies and time zones within a complex business environment
Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization programs
